Anyone else seen 90 Day Fiancé? I know not everything is 100% legit on reality shows, but I do believe that the beneficiaries do have a really hard time coming to the US and getting really home sick.. I could not imagine packing up and leaving everything and moving to another country. In this case, it's not about any amount of money, but the fact that they are giving up their whole lives to start a new one with the one they love. I have asked my F quite a few times... are you sure you are ok with this (leaving all his friends and family) because I can only imagine how difficult that would be and it just makes me sad for him thinking about it and then I start to feel bad, but at the same time, I just can't wait to have him here with me. It's the worst catch 22 ever

I agree with the beneficiary side, im the petitioner....but I hope you all relize that its pretty hard on us too.... yes no physical, yes no interview, or leaving ones original country...but I guess since i was military ive done it to a point and I understand its a choice. REMEMBER we are just as emotionally there as you are.. i dont remember the term some use for the pinay that get emotionally charged but I have to be calm even when she isnt...we miss and are going through this too....

Anyways looking forward to seeing for jan and feb scans..I like seeing how many cases a day..total number of cases outstanding for the months..to me it allows me to see how much closer we are getting.

Best luck to all we are all hopefully getting closer..cant wait to hold her hand again!

Hello there. Beneficiary here. Thanks for understanding the beneficiaries side. Indeed, it is really going to be hard for us to leave our country, our families but in my case I have already prepared my emotions in advance. I hope your fiance will be able to get through it which I know she will because we filipinas are strong women. :-) By the way, how to get those scans you mentioned? I wanna see too.. thank you.. :-) By the way, your fiance is very pretty and you two look good together..

I am screenshotting one or two conversations per month, trying to find something meaningful, like discussing our future plans or important aspects of our relationship (we both were married before, and, as you can guess, not happily, so we learned the importance of communication the hard way, and we are trying to do our best). We don't really text a lot because we video chat every day, but still I can find at least something for every month.

If you wish, I can PM you one of my screenshots.

I like the idea of getting screenshots of future plans & screenshots of video calls every week. Although we talk about our future plans more over the video/audio calls because we don't like long texts lol. Hopefully we have some and include it in our proof of on-going relationship ^_^ We took screenshots of our call logs from the time we used Skype, facebook messenger, facetime. We had a hard time digging in our old facebook messenger video/audio call logs (the app freezes and crashes).

I don't know if it's advisable to include the duration of the calls or will it just give the interviewer an idea to ask more questions during the interview. (or I'm just overthinking)

Hey Whiners! :)

I was asking another girl from my area, who just moved to the states after k-1.
Because I was seriously concerned about the fact that we don't see us during the process.
She said, she did not add any evidence of ongoing relationship; they just made the letter of intent new.
She further said it's probably a little "easier" since our both fiances are in the military, and they kind of understand that visiting is difficult. She didn't see her fiance either.
So I'm a little relieved. I will still screenshot the call logs from Facetime and add maybe 4 different screenshots of us on cam, but I'll keep it with this.
Maybe the military fact of him having a hard time getting leave will be helpful at least in this case.
And.. it's true. Since he really didn't get any leave for visiting in April and won't get any in summer... sighs.

But good news:

IT'S ALMOST MAY!!!!!

I did include a couple of screenshots with the longer durations of the calls (about 2 hours), I think it should be seen as a proof of a serious relationship. Let's face it, not every married couple spends that much time just talking:) Even if the interviewer wants to ask more questions, I won't mind answering.

When Eric's sister-in-law was interviewed in Ireland, they didn't even look at the financial documents - because her now husband used to be in the military (and Eric did too, for 8 years).

So, we assume that any military background should be helpful. However, we are not taking any chances and preparing everything we can. It's better to be safe than sorry:)

I believe it's more difficult for a man, women can easily adapt to anything. Besides, for many guys it's unbearable to be in the dependant position, even for a short time. Wish you both a lot of love and patience:)

Exactly. That's why I will still collect everything I can. And I will bring a load full to the interview, just to be prepared in case!
I just have a "better" feeling!

The stories I've heard from the interviews are more like buying a train ticket situation. In my head it always was more like interrogation... but I keep hearing these "quick in - long wait - approved - out" stories.

Hard to believe it would be that easy...

I've not seen the show but I've heard about it.  I understand your feelings exactly and I've had the same exact conversations with my fiance.  He's been great about reassuring me that his focus is on our future and our life together but still I worry/stress/fret.  While I'm mostly happy living in the states, I've said to him many times "Are you sure you want to live in the States?  It's really not as you think about it/how it's been depicted in pop culture.  Are you sure you are okay leaving your friends/family/life to date an ocean away?  Do you really want to give up the beauty of Europe?"  Okay, yes, I know, the states are beautiful too but there is so much, at least to me, history, culture, amazing and cheap vacation opportunities living in Europe, that I wonder why he would want to give that up.  Time and again, though, he's told me that none of that is important to him and he doesn't care what life will be like living here, the important thing is that we will be together.  I knew there was a reason I fell in love with him ;)

That's what I always have in my mind too about the interview process. And from reading various K1 visa interviews esp those who gets denied is making me nervous. I always dread interviews. All kinds of interviews actually.

Yet another point of view on how and why beneficiaries are ready to pack up and move:)

For me it's a question of prioritizing, and my top priority is my fiance's happiness. I know that I can find a job (almost) anywhere, I can adapt to (almost) any place, I can get on well with (almost) anyone, etc. It might sound too self-assured, but it's true. He, on the other hand, would be miserable in my country. He doesn't speak the language, which makes finding a job difficult, he would miss his family too much, and so on. That said, I could give a dozen of reasons why it would be hard or inconvenient for me to move but I choose not to focus on them, I put my fiance first.

I honestly don't know how/if I would be able to pack up my whole life and move to another country. My fiancee isn't rich, but she has a very good education, job and lives comfortably. Then she will come here and spend a period of time in which she won't be able to drive or work. Essentially she'll be trapped at home until I return home from work every day. It would drive me completely nuts. I try to put myself in her shoes and don't know how she can do it. I only hope and pray for the ability to make her feel comfortable, at home and help her get through the inevitable worries and homesickness. On the other hand, she loves to read, study, and do various arts and crafts. She's very much a home body in her own country, so I hope that helps here.

I am the beneficiary but for me I think its a bit different since my home country is Canada. Although I do worry about the time I will be home for a few months before I can work or more. I have been working since I was 14 and I am 38 now. I can not imagine not working. I currently work 23 hours a week in my current job and it drives me BONKERS because its not enough. I am starting a second job next week thats 12 hours a week and that will help. Its just from May-September so perfect for giving me extra money for this process. But man not working is gonna kill me. I plan on doing a lot of walking around where my fiance lives and checking out various restaurants and things nearby scoping them out for applying for a job. I will get my food handler's certificate while waiting and my alcohol servesafe as well. I have both in Canada too bad they don't transfer. I currently work in a library but my second job will be in the clubhouse of a golf course. lol I have worked in the hospitality industry for years and probably about the same in administration like I do now with the library. I have talked about going back to school maybe but we will see. The funny thing is we talked about him coming here to Canada but I have way more job skills than he does which is why I am moving. Also his kids live in Cali with his ex-wife. Last night he was crying because he is afraid that his kids hate him like he hates his father(his father was abusive). I reminded him that they may because he gave them up to his ex-wife but that they are older and to give them a chance to come through. I told him to keep the lines of communication open and always remind them that you care. He looked at me on skype vid and said hun you always know the right things to say. I said because I have been there I know from experience. Then I told him that our first vacation would be going to Cali to visit his kids. He brightened at that. :) I love my fiance so much and I hate seeing him hurting.

It is really hard I am sure. Me I have no friends where I currently live except for my family. I live with my Mum. My sister lives 3 houses down with her hubby and her kid. My Aunt lives 8 houses down the other way. I also have 4 cousins nearby. I grew up where I am currently living but its a village of 330 people. I had a horrible school time here in high school bullied mercifully. My bullies still live here raising children and while a few have changed one hasn't. The other day he told me he couldn't believe a fat cow like me was getting married. I just looked him in the eye and walked away. My closest friend from high school lives 30 minutes away and I have visited with her and hubby and kids a few times. In fact this summer we are all going to take a drive to the International Peace Garden which is only an hour and a half away and have a walk through and a picnic. My Mum, sister and niece are coming too. It will be like old times. My family and my friends family all used to go when we were young. A tradition we started when I was 10 years old and the last time I went I was 16. :) So what I will miss most is my family. Family means everything to me and are very important. But I am only across the border 15 hours away from them. So for me its probably easier and cheaper to visit and for them as well. My Mum actually expressed interest in going to the wedding which surprised me because she always told my sister and I we should elope. LOL
