You don't really need the NVC # for the DS-160, as they specifically ask for the USCIS receipt number. So yes, you can start working on it, just don't submit it at least until the case shows as 'Ready' on the ceac website or you get word from your Embassy, depending on how things specifically work for your country. Actually that's what the NVC # is good for, tracking the processing of your case, as well as being needed in some countries to be able to book the medical and so on.

You can fill out the form for your fiance if you want to, but he should be the one signing and submitting it, as he's the visa applicant and all the info refers to him.

Payment is also country specific. Take a look to the US embassy website for your country, or at the VJ'S portal.

Good luck!

Great! Thank u so much

Where do i get this form?

Well took a break from VJ. Update is we are 170days still no NOA2 but in the eye of hurricane Irma in Florida so that will keep my attention for now. For all the ones that have received there approvals and fortunate to begin there journey to be with there love ones congrats!!!!!!

Hi neighbor, Definitely sucks to not have noa2 yet.  I hope they get yours out really soon.  Hope you are all secure, and ready to shelter - this hurricane looks like a memory maker.

Interview time was at today at 1pm (Romanian time) (3am our time) I waited a VERY painful 1hr and 45 min until I got the call from my F ... his words? Baby, I now declare us husband and wife!!

VISA APPROVED!!!

Although he was one of the first in line, after he had gotten through security clearance, he had been skipped over 2-3 times which is why it took soooo long. I was getting so worried because I know, based on what others have said, that interviews generally only take 10-20 min! The actual interview itself was only about 10 min.

Some of the questions they asked:

*How did you two meet?   When he replied online, they then asked
*Where online?  When he said in World of Warcraft they then asked
*Oh, you guys play World of Warcraft? (with great interest lol) What avatar do you play? What avatar does she play?
*Have you two met in person? Yes
*Have you been to the United States? No
*Has she been to Romania? No
*Where did you two meet in person?
*Does she have kids?
*What are their names?
*Are you aware of her previous relationship and divorce?
*How long ago was her divorce?
*How does your parents feel about the relationship?
*Then asked some questions in regards to the age difference
*Then jumped back to World of Warcraft (lol) What was her avatars name when you two met?
*Oh, she plays a priest AND a warlock? (lol)

He will soon be traveling back to his home town and then we can start looking at airfare again... but, prices have gone sky high since gas has gone sky high... so, that is a bit frustrating. AND he will have his visa and passport in 2-3 days.
And by the sounds of it, there is going to be MANY more approvals right around the corner!!

EDIT: I pushed real hard to make this happen a month after NOA2!!

Congrats, so happy for you!  Nice work!  That POE is just around the corner.

Post them Gulf Coast wedding pics :D

Congratulations! That sure is good news :jest:

Good work on pushing things hard and making it happen. You are lucky to be dealing with a country where things move so fast (yep, that sounds bitter because I'm feeling bitter, sorry :P).

Now, time for your wonderful beach wedding

grumble grumble grumble :D I don't blame you, Slowest embassy in the whole wide world!

So my Dad gave me the bright idea to flip my status to married early on my tax withheld in July 3 month into my I129f submission to get the tax credits early for 2017 however it shows as married now on my recent pay stubs now. Do I have to worry about this in terms of printing documentation for the interview? My dads an accountant so I know its legal to do this early, however now i'm worried what the embassy will think seeing this. I might have time to flip it to single again to get a few pay stubs to generate as single if its something I have to worry about.

I thought of doing this also, but didn't due to the possibility that it might be viewed in a negative way in terms of marrying for financial gain. Also, I wasn't sure but I need to get my fiancé on my health insurance and for life changing events I only have 30 days to do so - The marriage certificate is the evidence, but didn't want to have any complications. I figured that it would all be good and mean a bigger tax return for the year.

Wow lol marrying for financial gain. Its true that what fiancé told me said too when I told her I flipped it, but its also you not giving the government a free loan. I wouldn't of done it if my dad didn't suggest it and had I known I would be submitting anything with this tax info from this year. I might not have to submit it, I have read over the required documents again for I134.

No worries. People do this all the time by updating their Form W-4 for withholding. I've seen people with zero kids claim 9 exemptions doesn't mean they really have 9 kids and doesn't mean you are married if withholding for married rate. It's a great idea and your Dad was right. What matters would be a Joint filed Tax return for 2016 and your divorce decree date (assuming divorced) were to say 2010 or something.

Marrying for financial gain on the taxes? Never happen. We will spend way much more on immigration fees alone not to mention the wedding itself. No gain there.

Stock market would be better investment haha

Varicella? Did he have the chickenpox as a child? Then he doesn't need it! Also, if he isn't sure, I would have your family doc do a titers test to check his immunity to it instead of administering the vaccine! That test will also check his immunity to measles and mumps and rubella etc, which is great peaceful of mind! But those results could take a few days to a week to get back. Just an FYI. But if he had chickenpox as a child, he doesn't require the vaccine. @amishbaby

No, he looked in his Baby Blue book and he doesn't have a varicella vaccination. But he's just gonna pay the $75 for the vaccination and have it done at his medical. Makes everything a bit easier for us. He has his measles, mumps, and rubella vaccination done.

After I read this I looked, and my case was marked "Administrative Processing" - I called NVC and spoke with Hank and according to Hank it is the embassy that has done this. He was not able to give me any specific reason why this was the case, only mentioned that it needed some extra processing. I called the embassy and have thus far been unable to find the right combination of buttons to press to speak with an actual person.

Our status still shows "At NVC".

We called again yesterday and they told us the same plus added that there are no additional notes on our case and everything looks great. So we just need to wait for regular administrative proceeding.

So I doubt that we are already at the embassy, but who knows the truth.

Just have to wait another portion of time.

Congrats on all the recent approvals for everything! So wonderful. I am so pumped just made my Medical Appointment for 8:30am October 3rd in Montreal. Means Mum and I are gonna be staying just over a week since my interview is October 11th. But we have plans to take the train to Ottawa and visit my sister Claire. :) She works for the finance department of the Canada Government in Ottawa. We also have plans to do some sightseeing. The guy I talked to at Medisys in Montreal was soooo nice.

Good news and good plans!

Wish you luck! ;)
