My case never showed in transit... it went from NVC to ready. I guess the case was scanned through to the embassy in Romania which is why it happened that way, so maybe because some time has passed, maybe that will be happening with yours too =)
So my case was assigned a number on the 22nd, scanned on the 25th and then showed as READY later on the 28th... if this is helpful. It showed as AT NVC in the afternoon on the 28th so I was still worried and had called them and they told me that it had already been scanned through on the 25th... seems that the tracker is not always 100% accurate... the customer service rep told me that. He said for the best accuracy, just to call.

I can never @HOLLY correctly LOL   I can't get that heart to appear no matter how many f3 or f buttons I push LOL    But you know what, you are the only @holly as far as we are concerned.   It's been a great 5 months hanging out with everyone here, even if we can't properly cite you :D

I tried applying for help with Ombudsman and finally heard a reply (NOA1 was 3/16, nothing since).  Posting this here in case anyone who hasn't heard back anything finds it useful, particularly the part in bold (tl;dr -- it's still considered within USCIS processing times, so they can't do anything):

The Office of the Citizenship and Immigration Services Ombudsman (Ombudsman’s Office) has reviewed your request for case assistance.

While we understand your concern, our review indicates that your case is within normal processing times as provided by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) on its website. You may monitor processing times on the USCIS website at https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/processTimesDisplayInit.do.

When your case exceeds the timeframe provided on the site, you should contact USCIS and request that a Service Request Management Tool (SRMT) ticket be generated.  You will find contact information for requesting an SRMT ticket at this site:
http://www.uscis.gov/about-us/contact-us/national-customer-service-center.

If you initiated an SRMT ticket process and 60 days have passed without a resolution of your ticket, please feel free to contact our office again and provide the SRMT ticket number with your case information.

If, however, you can demonstrate that you meet one of USCIS’s expedite criteria, which can be found at http://www.uscis.gov/forms/expedite-criteria, please let us know and provide both a statement and supporting documentation.  Our office will review the information to determine if it is sufficient for forwarding to USCIS for consideration.

Please keep in mind that USCIS is the responsible party for moving cases forward and that the granting of expedite requests is on a case-by-case basis.

Because your case is currently within normal processing times, our office will be closing this matter.

Sincerely,

Office of the Citizenship and Immigration Services Ombudsman/ajp

It is inevitable - they will eventually get to your case, but if you want to shake doors, and ring phones and try to get your case noticed, I suggest try rephrasing your request to the ombudsman that uscis sets their own processing times without any oversight and direction - and the dates have only gone from 15 Jan, to 15 Feb to 1 Jan to 1 Feb to 1 Jan to 1 Feb.  They are capricious and won ton in their work, and keep the goal posts out of reach deliberately (even moving them backwards to negatively impact those who have waited the longest so they can continue to do whatever work they want to do, and ignore who they want to) so that those left behind in the backlog hallways only have a chance of being selected and only when someone by chance works overtime and selects your file for processing.  In your request to Ombudsman, Not necessarily saying your date is out of normal processing, as uscis defines what is normal, try getting the ombudsman to look at the process that has left your case in the dust.  It's a ricochet shot..... getting your case into someone's hands.....

Hope this helps, I really do remember how I felt just 2 weeks ago when I was left in the dust and could only shake doors and peck on windows - but I will tell you this - an approval is like the most awesome thing and with good deliberate work, you can speed right through the rest of it very fast.

Great! Thank you so much for this info.

Now I'm a little less worry about this :)

My case was in transit for a few hours, and it was only once it changed to the "Ready" status that I could see that info regarding 'Case created' and 'Case last updated'.

Thank you so much for this. :)

I'm like @Holly  says above, just said simply AT NVC  and told me six steps that I totally ignored

Probably stuck

Maybe calling would be best. They take calls all the way to midnight eastern time.

Wow, I really wish yours would get going - you are 2 weeks? ahead of me,,,I Think?????  Anyways, you are due to get on the fast track.

Yep, that's exactly what we can see now - at nvc and 6 steps that we ignore.

Tomorrow will be one week when they assigned our case number.

So hopefully 🙏🏼

Yeah this is great advice!  That's mainly what I said when I applied for the help of my Senator -- I showed my correspondence with the Pelosi office, where the dates USCIS gave them were completely wrong and also the processing times went backwards.  That there seems to be no accountability.

I could try again with ombudsman in a week or two.

Question for everyone with NOA2s:

Did you guys get approval through physical mail *only*?

I ask because I've signed up for every kind of electronic notification with USCIS and check the case tracker online religiously.  Do any of their notifications or trackers actually work?

Everyone that I have seen contacting Pelosi says she is of no help.  If you try the legislative inquiry again, Look for your congressional representative, and inquire there.  Pelosi just doesn't have any interest in furthering the lives of her constituents.  I don't know what her interests are, but I can see where they aren't

As for me, I got nothing but an email when they 'received' the 129F - and nothing since, thru NVC and thru Embassy - so the G-1145 form was a waste of time - USPS told me when the uscis received the 129f.

Case tracker still shows Received and nothing done since March 23 after received 16 March.
