Let me know what you find out! Maybe will poke around the AOS forums later on and see if anyone left some helpful tips :D

It's state specific. Here NC we had the Justice if the Peace and afterwards went to Records office and had it recorded and marriage certificate completed and handed to us. Check with your local county.

I just asked my fiancee and she said that she didn't receive any notification from the embassy that the case was ready for interview.  I'm not sure if that is normal.  After our case left NVC it took about a week for the status to change to "ready" where we could schedule our interview.

Hypothetically - Let's say I have an interview on a Tuesday at USEM,    If I (Petitioner) wanted to attend the interview AND wait for the visa to be issued to MOA then fly home with the Beneficiary.....   How Many Days from The Interview Would I Schedule The Return Flight?  Would it be safe to assume 10 days or 12 or 14????  or More?

@cherryblossoms916

LOL  Disclaimer, Hypothetical situation as everyone knows to not plan anything definite until final approval, do not try this at home, this advice is probably not accurate, your miles may vary, exclusive to south pole emmigrants from the Arctic, and trained stunt professionals.........

Finally sinking in I'll be leaving the country of my birth and starting a new life in a little under 3 days time ☺, my whole existence is packed in 2 suitcases and a backpack.

A year and 4 months ago if someone said to me you'd be engaged to an American girl, visited her 4 times, met her close family 👪 etc... I'd have called you totally crazy.

It's true what they say dreams can come true ☺. All that's left to do is sit waiting for Saturday morning and boarding the plane ✈ 💕 💕.

Anyone still waiting for NOA2 it does seem a long painful wait till your able to be with your partner for good, never give up on each other and you'll make it to your own happy ending together 💑

AWESOME!    Looking Back, this has been a fun and hope filled 5 months!!!!

Post a POE Pic!   :D

:D yeah, a pic is normally too big.  What I do is upload to facebook then download it - then it is the right size to use here - I don't have a photo editor on my phone, but FB does it for me lol.

Hello There,

As the benificary, do I need to take the long form for the petitioner to my interview as well?

We only submitted the short form for our original i-129F application.

It turned out I was wrong and my fiance only submitted her short form as well. Whether or not you need to take your petitioner's  birth certificate would be specific to your embassy and I was only commenting on the embassy in Montreal. Based on reviews of your consulate, it doesnt appear you need the petitioner's birth certificate: http://www.visajourney.com/reviews/index.php?trim=no&cty=&cnty=Barbados&page=1&dfilter=5&topic=

Just hung up with my F and he is going to call the embassy in the morning (that is our tonight) and gonna try to schedule the interview for Tues so that he can do his medical on Mon and he might take a flight here on the 22nd!! That feels so close! He insisted that he is ok with coming sooner than later, but I did try to let him know that if he needs more time, it's no problem. We will know something more tonight I guess =)

After 5 months we asked our congressman to inquire about our case on our behalf. We received our NOA2 a couple of weeks later, on day 177 from NOA1. So if you haven't already, contact your congressperson for help.

I've been in touch with the congressional offices for some time.  Neither the reps nor the senators have been able to help, aside from getting in touch with USCIS to find out the status (which I can just do myself by going on USCIS website), unfortunately.

We're also at day 170..  at least we're not the only ones. ^_^

Just schedule her interview on Monday if possible.. If she's lucky to be landed in a fair consulate, her status might change next day.. And then if the status changes to ISSUED next day, you guys should wait another 2 days again because that's where they're gonna forward the visa packet to 2GO in MOA.. In my case, I landed to a very sweet consul but I was in Application Received for 2 days after my interview, then it just changed to AP, but due to a long weekend, they just issued it last Tuesday.. and now I'm still waiting for the visa. ;) hopefully they will forward it today so I can have it by Saturday.

If she happens to land in a consulate that isn't fair enough, THE ASIAN consulate , then maybe it'll take longer.. my other friend had her interview last week, Thursday, until now her status is still Application Received..

maybe 10-14 is good :)) you can do it.
