Since when did NVC go to a month?  Please don't say that :(  also I have heard mixed reviews on police reports as to who needs them and from where ?!   He needs a police report from his home country?

That is from receipt to when it ends up at the embassy.  I believe the suggestion is to start calling 14 days after NOA2.  It will take, at least, 7-10 days business for NVC to receive your file from USCIS after you receive the NOA2, then another 2-5 business days for NVC to get your file in their system.

My understanding is that police certificates are required for ANY country that the beneficiary has lived for more than 6 months after the age of 16.  Yes, he will need one from Serbia to allow the CO to see that he is not a fugitive or criminal with outstanding warrants.

In my case, my fiancee had to get police certificates from Ireland and Korea, on top of the NBI (National Bureau of Investigation) clearance from the Philippines.  She has two children.  The son is 17 so she needs his NBI clearance but her daughter is 14 so she does not need the clearance.

Hi there everyone! Long time lurker, first time caller. I'm Kait... my fiancé Shane (from Ireland) and I also filed our i-29F in March. My case was received 3/16 and my date of notice was 3/21 at the CSC....... And that's the last time I heard any helpful update at all.

I called USCIS about 5 minutes ago and they told me they were working on cases received on or before February 1st, so I'm still "well within the acceptable window."

Judging by the amount of people in this forum who've received their NOA2s and beyond (congrats!), I'm thinking that's less than accurate.

Any advice for further steps to take? Is this all a bad sign? I've got a million self-doubts, and it's just so tough waiting when you can't do anything!

When you call play dumb like you can't find your number and get up to a Tier 2 agent. The Tier 1 people can only tell you the February 1st thing. Tier 2 can tell you if it has been assigned to anyone and more information like that.

Just got off the phone from booking my medical. They said 3 days if enough. (not including the day of the medical) so I booked for September 28th which is a Thursday (Friday, Monday, Tuesday is the 3 day to process) and you pick it up on your 3rd day. Wednesday is the interview. Of course they still only book k1 visas on Wednesdays in Montreal. I cant believe its booked!!

The Montreal medical is like $453 Canadian apparently which you pay at the medical its crazy! .. and the interview fee was 265 USD and $20.00 to courier your passport back .(Canadian) (paid upfront)
