Mine moved too so I decided to stop looking. By the time I get my noa2 it will be past the planned wedding date we had set

Hey! A fellow Utahn! I am always a little more enthusiastic to see either Utah or a Ukrainian flag on a profile! Hoping everything goes well for you! I've got a location reserved and a down payment for early November. Luckily they are very flexible and can move the date with at least 2 weeks notice.

Hey fellow Anonymous Whiners! :)

Thanks to everybody, who helped me out with my checklist! :)

For the tax returns: I've asked a girl from my area, who just went through all this, and she said that tax returns are needed for AOS, not for K1. So a little less pressure! :)
Just to inform you!

Question to those who aren't travelling through the process:
What kind of evidence for the ongoing relationship could we use?
I don't want to use chat logs, because besides some kiss smilies we don't sweet talk AT ALL haha (We're weirdos, we only do that on camera).
We also don't whine around how much we're missing us, or anything. Because it doesn't make it better. And I don't want to sweet talk just to have evidence to screenshot. Neither wants he.

Scott and I have a ritual: Facetime every Sunday. And I decided to make a screenshot of that from now on. So I have one for every week!

I was talking to him about that, and he meant that the fact that we're saving the money and vacation days for our wedding will be enough. Escpecially since he's in the military and it is very hard for him to get leave. He tried to come here RIGHT NOW, but they took forever to decide if he can have leave or not, so it was too late, and he didn't take the leave.
In summer he can't have leave (school installation), and then it's not worth planning anymore because I will come for good, and we'll need his leave for wedding and vacation.

For me; I only have about 15 days left, will need some here, and then want to take the rest to get over there earlier.

I wonder if that might cause irritations later... What do you think?

Oh, and since I saw someone from Salt Lake City:

Greetings! :)
It's so nice there! My future in laws are in West Point, so we went to visit in October!
Beautiful landscape! <3

And one more, since you all are talking about it:
My estimated date for NOA2 has moved from June 21st-June 26th to June 22nd-June 28th. But that was a week ago already; since then nothing changed.
I hope I can keep the schedule!

My fiance and I were talking about this last night because I think I will likely get this second job I applied for meaning I can't travel to see him and he is saving up time to come get me when I have the visa. Gosh I hope we get it before winter sets in because driving across the dakotas in winter is not fun! Been there done that! LOL Well our chats go from regular to I miss you to naughty pretty quick. We plan on putting in our skype logs of calls again. Screenshots of the vid chat oh I like that idea gonna borrow it. lol Chris and I vid chat every evening. But I suppose thats the benefit we get of only being an hour apart timezone wise. lol

Eric is only coming here in August, hopefully for the interview. So, most of the evidence will have to be from our online communication.

We talk every day via Skype, and every Sunday evening (for me)/morning (for him) we spend several hours with my kids: cook dinner/breakfast, talk a bit and watch a movie. I am going to make some screenshots too. We don't text a lot but still there is something, so I am going to print out one conversation per month, like we did for the petition.

I don't think that sweet talk is a must. People are different, as are their methods of communication, if you can show that you do communicate, it should be enough.

Speaking of rituals - we write letters to each other every month on different topics, like what we have learnt from each other, or what our fears and hopes are, or what our first month together will be like, etc. We tried snail mail but my first letter got lost, and Eric's arrived almost in 2 months. So we've been uploading them to our Google drive, and now we have quite a collection. I am going to print out some of those too. It might sound cheesy, but it turned out to be really great for us: some things are easier to share in writing, and it's very pleasant to read a long heartfelt letter from your significant other in our era of short texts and emojis:) I can definitely recommend trying:)

If you have something to show that you are making preparations for your wedding, that should count as evidence too.

Oh love the letters to google drive :D Chris does send me snail mail letters they take like 2 weeks to get here sometimes even from not far away. Our mail system bites. Chris and I watch movies together on netflix or tv shows. Right now we are addicted to The 100 which my brother was like you two need to watch. :)

I had a breakdown yesterday and couldn't stop crying. This process is so mentally draining.

We watch TV shows too, we have just finished Grimm:) Sometimes it's the only thing I am capable of at 5.30 am  - that's when we start our video chat every day.

The process is draining indeed, but if it wasn't worth it, we wouldn't do it, right?

Exactly. One of my best friends lives in Texas and she and her husband did the k-3 route back in 2006. I was her rock through the process and it was a hell of a lot quicker back then. She was the one who told me to come to visajourney. She said VJ kept her sane. She tells me all the time its well worth the headaches and heartaches. I have a friend who just got her perm green card who is from Australia. She has been a good help. Her and her hubby went through the k-1 as well and they met on Second Life like me and Chris did. They live in Arizona and Chris and I plan on visiting them next year and finally meet them.

Hah! Just saying my fiancé works in Salt Lake City and lives nearby (he's not originally from Utah). I spent three months there early this year, plus another two months last year, so yes, I can agree it's a nice place... though so cold in winter! Amazing how nice people are there when you do something as simple as going get groceries to the supermarket. Miss that :)

They might have been lucky. Eric's brother and his wife (she is from Ireland) did K-1 3 years ago, and it took them about a year.
