The guy at my senator's office made the justification up by looking at the USCIS page and noting it was last updated (in my case) in May, so their information was outdated and that, along with the case having been processing for five months was more than enough for him. It's been updated to June 30, which is nearly two months ago -- and processing February + two month = processing April. It's an easy case to make.

Wow I never put 2 and 2 together. They are saying it February cause it 2 months old. Wow makes sense now. Thank you, I will put that in the form.

Congrats, another step in the journey completed.

I'm hoping they have at least received ours when we call tomorrow, but not much hope at the moment.

Anyway, Gary sent me the documents this weekend (Saturday) and he used Global Express (I think that's the name) that is supposed to be the fastest option. I'm supposed to get everything here on Thursday. The cost was quite high, if you ask me, for just a not so thick stack of paperwork (around $88 :o).

I'm not sure if Romania is the same, but probably similar... Next option was Priority Express and that's like 6-10 workdays, and $20 less, I think. Not sure about FedEx or UPS.

Thanks for the info!! but, in the last few minutes, the more I have been thinking about this, the more I am not gonna worry about trying to get it there faster, because my F has not started on any of his stuff.. ANY of it, so it won't matter so much if he has my stuff and hasn't even done his yet  lol -_-

@gob332    2 weeks from receive to ready or from case # to ready ?

I have heard others get it within 4 or 5 days.. I think I'm on day 5.

So here is where my case is a little weird.

  • NOA2 dated 5/31
  • I called NVC to see if they had my case and number of 6/22 and was told they did not yet have my case
  • I received an e-mail from NVC on 6/23 with my case # and saying my case was being forwarded to the consulate
  • Consulate received on 6/29
  • My CEAC Case tracker showed ready on 7/4 (though I was traveling on 7/3 and did not check it then)
  • However, my CEAC Case tracker also shows my case was created on 6/9

So it seems like you are right -- it was only a few days after the consulate received.

I was also wanting a SEPT 6 interview date!!! but I highly doubt that will happen now. Did you do your medical already? I am waiting so I can do it all in one shot (spend a week or 8 days in montreal if I have to.. ) I am worried that ill find an interview date and a medical day wont be available.. (I live in alberta so I have to fly no matter what for the medical its just easier this way)

I know it sucks!!! haha just wanna be done with the wait to be together. And noo I haven't, I believe we can't book the medical until our interviews all booked. And yes omg Im really worried about no available medical day being available too! I'm from Ontario so it'll just a long drive for me, other provinces have it much worse. Is your fiance(e) joining you for the interview? Lol I'm making mine come to the medical and the interview. We're both pretty young ( I'm18 and hes 22) so I feel like we'll  need to show as much proof as possible.

You can also get the medical done in Toronto if that is an option for you.

I am! It's much easier and we plan to pick it up again on route to the interview :) ps please post as much about your interview as you possibly can.  I'm so excited for all the upcoming interviews, fingers crossed they are as easy as everyone says.

Anyone have any idea why CEAC would show case created 6-9, but when I called NVC after that date they indicated to me they did not have their case? Incompetency?

We had a couple of red flags and it was a breeze for my fiance. Should be even easier for you!

I wanted to have him there but he only has the one week off (September 4-8) - his work is weird they make you book your full years worth of vacation in January!!! its insane. so I might make him come out for a weekend but since I probably wont get that September 6 date we are hooped.. I cant imagine getting a medical next week.. seems short.  its okay though. And ya I'm 31 and my fiancé is 44 so I get what you mean you are a little bit younger so I'm sure that it will help have him by your side for the interview not only that but also for support! its a tough process to go through! and to be alone in a diff city aswell!

That's rough! I wanted to be there for the interview as well, but I had already a booked a flight for the next day in advance of scheduling her interview. It sucked! But we also wanted to do the interview ASAP. Her birthday was the day after the interview and she got approved and I was there by 8 am the next day so it was a great birthday gift, but frustrating nonetheless! I am 34 and she is 21 and they did not bring up anything about the age difference at the interview. The interviewer did, however, complement her ring :D

Aw that sucks, and I don't think I'll get September 6 at this point either but, September 13!! High hopes for that date, hopefully I'll see you that day it'd be nice to :)

ooh that's who I'm planning to use! He's got one of the best reviews especially with service. Do you mind linking me to your review? Also, how long did it take before your medical stuff was ready to pick up?
