Life has been so hectic with a new job and preparing for travel that I have no time to check VJ, but hopefully things have been good for the March crew!! Just wanted to let everyone know my fiance received his packet from the embassy a few days ago...he is having his brother bring it to him since he is still stuck in his hometown taking care of some family affairs. I know some people have asked if an actual packet gets mailed or not, so it seems that with some embassies it definitely is the case.

Sadly, we haven't been able to book his medical and embassy interview yet because there is a hold-up with the getting the address listed on his ID documents updated. He needs the ID documents to request a new passport/police clearance, new passport to submit the DS-160, DS-160 to schedule the appointments, etc. We expected all of this to be sorted well over a month ago, but you can't have too many expectations with India! haha. Good news is that I'm leaving in 11 days to spend five weeks with him, so we can spend a long time together while getting everything sorted out! :)

The Dalai Lama, when asked what surprised him most about humanity, answered "Man.... Because he sacrifices his health in order to make money. Then he sacrifices money to recuperate his health. And then he is so anxious about the future that he does not enjoy the present; the result being that he does not live in the present or the future; he lives as if he is never going to die, and then dies having never really lived."

I was just wondering today if you had left on your trip.

Hope time goes slow for you while you are there and the visa process continues fast!

15 hr NJ layover?????   Sounds FUN!!!!!   Go trash NYC (just don't get trashed in NYC lol)  I like layovers like that, a great chance to go exploring.

Yeah, I jumped on a plane and while I was gone, they snuck an approval letter in my mailbox.. My neighbor picking up my mail called me with the news.  I have a whole new attitude now :D  Mellowed out for a couple weeks, feels good on me hahaha

They asked how we met and the date we met, do i know his family, how many times has he been to colombia, how many times i visited him in tbe united states.  I was approved but i still have to provide an ORIGINAL CERTIFIED copy of his divorce decree.

¡ME APROBARON !!!

NOA1 - March 31

NOA2 - Aug 16

I was very excited this morning to see letters from both USCIS and my congressperson, whom I contacted three weeks ago (and heard back from initially two weeks ago). Both were confirming that our I-129F has been APPROVED as of 8/16!! It took longer than we originally hoped but we are both so happy for the good news. Everyone else who is waiting for an NOA2, stay strong! I recommend contacting a rep as well, it can't hurt.

Congratulations!!!   Itsa Great Feeling, ain't it?  Happy for you.

One day only feels like 2?  Seemed like 3 or 4 to me hahaha.  Are you calling tier 2?  If not, start.  If you are inclined to do so, call your congressional representative for an inquiry on your behalf.

Expect 6 months to be approved,  but be happy with less.

Good luck to you

I'm being conservative! How do I contact a tier 2 rep? Do I do that by calling the uscis customer service line? What you recommend I ask them? I would highly appreciate anything you can suggest :)

I have heard that @AnJ Co is a connoisseur of internet high fives. He has quite the collection of only the finest Dijon high fives.
