Hello guys how you doing?

So the other day we received the letter from the embassy (Madrid, Spain) to send them some documents (DS-160, Birth certificate, police records, etc) before we set an appointment. According the person that is helping me this is very weird because you usually fill the appointment and bring with you the documents that they need. To make a long story short we set the interview for August 31st. We have every document ready but we haven't send it to the consulate. Should I send a copy of every document and keep the original in case they don't make it on time? Should I send the original and keep the copies for the interview? Will the consulate cancel my appointment?

Thank you for your time let me know if you can help me.

I don't know who is helping you out with the process, but this is how it works in Spain: you get contacted by them with packet 3 (was it a letter for you? I know someone that got it via email) and then you send them all the documents by mail. When they get your documents, they send you the authorization to make an appointment for the interview, and then it's when you do that on the website and pay the fee. Once you have the appointment, you book the medical. Actually you didn't mention the medical. Did you already do that? How did they let you to do that at the clinic without the appointment, if so?

All the information is on the Embassy website, and it clearly states not to make an appointment until they tell you are allowed to do so.

I don't know if they are going to let you have the interview next week, considering you didn't follow the proceeding. I would send everything ASAP to see if you can still make it in time... Though if you didn't have the medical exam yet, that is supposed to be done a few days prior to the interview, so everything seems a bit tight. So try to rush it doing things right, I guess, and if you think you won't be able to make it, you should probably email the Embassy and see how to fix it.

Got RFE on the 7th, tracker and site updated on the 18th..... still waiting on the letter

You know, that same thing happened to one of our April's filers.

He called USCIS in August, around the 8th, and was told they had issued a RFE on July 31st... the letter hadn't arrived, so he tried to ask for an expedite of the copy. Then the app updated the 15th and the copy arrived the 19th. When he called to inquiry about that, they said they had up to fifteen days to process and issue the hardcopy of the RFE, meaning it was actually issued the 15th, never on July.

They can be so confusing...

Hey guys, finally after 17 days of our case being at the NVC it says "IN TRANSIT"!! Very happy 😊 I just had a question, it says "your case is in transit to the consular section. Your interview date was provided to you by the National Visa Center" a bit confused, do they just pick an interview date for us and how do we find that out?

Mine is in transit and says the same thing.. I was advised that in Canada I have to book my own interview. *also I cant take a medical until that interview is booked.

I totally agree with you I though the same. They send the letter to my fiance  with all the specifications, it clearly said that we can not schedule an appointment until we send the documents. We have a medical appointment for this Wednesday, we have a confirmation of the interview and the receipt for the DS-160. I will send the documents but I am not sure if I should sent the originals or the copy because if the documents are not on time for the day of the interview we wont have the originals with us. Thank you for your time I really appreciate it.

Yeah, that's why they advice to get two copies of everything, specially because we have to mail things and sometimes mail gets lost.

I'm planning to use urgent certificate mail, and I think that's supposed to arrive in 1 day, so it should arrive on time if you send it this week.

At least it seems you have the medical booked with enough time for you to have the results on time, so good luck. Everything might work :)
