You are welcome, and yes, I hope someone in the same situation, and with experience, can help you out :)

Tax return and IRS transcripts are mentioned in point 5.C) "If Self Employed"... that's why I don't think they are necessary, but still saw lots of people gathering theirs even if not under that category, so kind of an optional thing, I guess.

Good luck!

Yeah, that's exactly why I got confused. Scott has read it too, and he said only for self employed people, but I've also seen many people talking about having it in the documents.
I think he hasn't done it for all the three years past. One is missing if I understood right. So I'm hoping we won't need it - now.

Hopefully the estimated time for NOA2 stays right, so I can maybe have the interview in August and move in September. That'd be perfect.

I honestly don't think we are going to need them. Just want to have everything possible so I can feel more confident for the interview, because I tend to over worry and freak out :P

I hope you get to move in September. I like the idea of having the interview in September and moving in October, but who knows what will happen. And after this long, I'll be happy anywhen :)

Same here, I'm paranoid! :)

Ok, then we hope for fall! :)
I'll be glad whenever it's done. But preferably September! :)

I hope by September too. As for the tax transcripts I think my fiance is gonna get them anyway because I would rather be over prepared than not enough personally. lol They take them they do they don't they don't. :)

Hey guys and girls! :)

Concerning the NOA2:

Does my US fiancé need tax returns or not?

Because I keep reading, but don't get it. He said (I've screenshotted him the "What to send to your fiancé" thing from the K-1 guide here), he only needs W2's? Whatever that is.

Can you please help me get it together in a checklist for myself? :)

He needs to send me:

- New letter of intent
- Employer letter (in his case his LES from the military)
- Bank statement about opening date and deposits
- W2
- Affiadvit of support

I need:

- Full petition (listed on me, because we have it digital)
- New letter of intent
- Birth certificate
- criminal records

Is that correct or am I missing something?

Sorry for probably doubeling. But these instruction pages are always so confusing to me.
I like this "list type" more, it's less confusing to me if I write it down myself for once! :)

Weirdo greetings from potato land! :)

W2's prove that he received income from an employer, but the tax transcripts from the IRS prove that taxes were officially filed. Since I think the most important part is whether or not your finance has sufficient income, the W2's should be fine. But it literally takes 10 minutes and completely online (in most cases) to get copies of the transcripts so it wouldn't hurt to just get those in addition to the W2. I will also be sending my fiance the last few pay stubs from my job in addition to everything else you listed.

The Dalai Lama, when asked what surprised him most about humanity, answered "Man.... Because he sacrifices his health in order to make money. Then he sacrifices money to recuperate his health. And then he is so anxious about the future that he does not enjoy the present; the result being that he does not live in the present or the future; he lives as if he is never going to die, and then dies having never really lived."

I believe he also needs to send you evidence of domicile- I've seen people say it can be anything from his driver's licence with his address to bills in his name to that address.  My bf lives with his parents right now so I think we are going to use his licence, car insurance and maybe phone bill?? I'll have some of his paystubs as well for the financial part which should also have his address.  According to my Canadian checklist, I also need proof he is a USC, so I'll also have a photocopy of his passport.

I think you also need 2 photographs (passport style) and evidence of the relationship since your petition was sent.

Here's my list... I may have more than needed, but again better to have it and them not ask than for them to ask and not have it..

I have (petitioner):

- New letter of intent

- Employer letter

- Past 3 years of W2's

- Bank Statements for past year (showing deposits, and will get a letter from bank if they are able to give me one)

- Past 3 years of return tax transcripts

- Affidavit of Support

- & just because we haven't been in a relationship for that long and Cuba is a little difficult I have letters from my mom, dad and sister and from his mom and brother acknowledging that our relationship is true, they approve of our relationship and know of our intent to marry.

My fiance needs (beneficiary):

- NOA2 paperwork

- Appointment Confirmation

- DS-160 Confirmation

- New letter of intent

- Birth Certificate

- Medical

- Criminal Records

For the K1 visa, I don't believe you have to prove domicile; maybe for the AOS process. Unless it's embassy specific...

I don't know if I just did something stupid, but last week I got the bank statements for both me and my co-sponsor.... hopefully I won't have to get any new bank statements? Like hopefully I didn't do it too early? I also got my co-sponsor's tax transcripts but I'm in the process of getting mine. As for my co-sponsor's W2's, employment letter, and 2 pay stubs I'm going to wait till we get the NOA2 to get that stuff. Hopefully the bank statements won't be too old by the time we go to our interview. I know mine won't make a difference because I have a co-sponsor, but I'm not sure if his will or not.

Also, I noticed I made a mistake on my g325a form and didn't put down my self-employment from March 2014- present time. I put down currently (none). I thought they were asking me for my past employers and didn't think to put the extra cash I make through my Etsy account because I don't make much. I'm hoping this doesn't cause any issues.... I do have a co-sponsor so I don't think it will really matter much..... luckily our consulate is the Australian Sydney consulate, which is pretty easy I've heard. And it's low fraud. I will just give him an updated new g325a form, just in case they say something. But I really don't think they will say anything.

It must be embassy specific! Here is Canada's official interview checklist, just incase anyone is interested (to have a general idea).I'm not sure how many embassies have their info online.

Ah, there you go.. And now that I've looked over the Cuba embassy website it says the same HAHA... I guess I should read through it carefully :/ It says in parentheses that I can submit a photocopy of my passport, naturalization certificate or lawful permanent resident card.

I plan on going to the interview with my Fiance so I'll have my passport with me and they have a copy of all the pages in my passport from the I-129F packet. I should be good... Now to go read more carefully through everything else :lol:

You should be good with the bank statements, as long as the letter from the bank is dated closer to the interview date. The G-325A may be cause for concern, but then again maybe not since you have a co-sponsor. I guess you'll just have to wait and see what happens and if the Australia isn't a high fraud then you may be able to get away with it.

There's so much information I've read... Hard to  know what is "official" and what is not!!  I'm visiting my fiance next week and I've made it my job to use the plane ride down to go through the copious amounts of screen shots I have from here with advice and get it better organised in preparation for the next step.
