I actually went to the bank last week while i was waiting to meet up with a friend (since it was right next door) and the lady at the bank told me that because of policy, they could only put how long i had been banking with them and what my balance is in the accounts and the last 4 numbers of the account number... they could not include any of the other stuff. Hope that doesn't affect anything too much.
Also, are just the W-2's alone not enough?  Do I need to send the transcripts too?!

I mean, you can only get what the bank will give you. You can print out the deposit portion of your monthly statements for the last year. I personally don't feel like W2's are enough and maybe I'm wrong. I just don't want to chance it so I'm taking everything I can think of to show evidence that I can support.

Yup mine too.. I've decided to stop relying on that thing because it's about to drive me crazy lol! I'm trying the Hakuna Matata approach for this journey.

Yeah!
He was so happy to get the first one after 12 years of touring around the world. He's a cat maniac! If he was female he'd have crazy cat lady potential hahaha

Since he's stationed around his hometown Virginia Beach and living in a normal apartment off base he was able to get the first kitty.
And when I was over last time we got OUR second one, to have a buddy for the first one, since he's working/pt'ing 12 hours a day.

I'm a cat lover too, so.... yeeeeeah! Can't wait to move in with my little family. :)
Only question is, what to do with my beloved guys here. I have two Guinea Pigs, who have an unknown destiny yet. My heart breaks by thinking of leaving them here.

I love kitties too. I used to have three cats now I am down to just my one Pixie. She turns 12 this year. Not sure she is looking forward to moving but as long as she has me she is happy. My Mum is always saying man that cat loves you. But she does I have had her since she was 6 weeks old. My heart breaks thinking of you having to leave your guinea pigs too :(

LOL! You and me both! To be totally honest.... I would move to Cuba in a heartbeat, especially with the political climate that is today (but I won't get into that).... But, only if Cuba was liberated.

That's the retirement plan though. Me & mister want to save as much as possible until retirement and then buy some little houses to rent out there & maybe own a restaurant and live like Kings until our last days with income from the rental properties & restaurant.. Dream is to have a house right near the ocean. He didn't have too much of a problem with that hehehe.

Hey guys and girls! :)

Concerning the NOA2:

Does my US fiancé need tax returns or not?

Because I keep reading, but don't get it. He said (I've screenshotted him the "What to send to your fiancé" thing from the K-1 guide here), he only needs W2's? Whatever that is.

Can you please help me get it together in a checklist for myself? :)

He needs to send me:

- New letter of intent
- Employer letter (in his case his LES from the military)
- Bank statement about opening date and deposits
- W2
- Affiadvit of support

I need:

- Full petition (listed on me, because we have it digital)
- New letter of intent
- Birth certificate
- criminal records

Is that correct or am I missing something?

Sorry for probably doubeling. But these instruction pages are always so confusing to me.
I like this "list type" more, it's less confusing to me if I write it down myself for once! :)

Weirdo greetings from potato land! :)

I had my own checklist where I included all things possibly needed, although I've seen lots of people in my country saying they weren't asked for most of them at the interview.

It's pretty similar to yours, except I don't think I'll need a new letter of intent to marry by myself (beneficiary) and also I added these things you don't have in your list:

- Copy of information my fiancé might send due to any RFE (hopefully not)

- Copy of paystubs (minimum 2, better up to 6)

- IRS transcripts (I don't think they are that necessary, but apparently they are quite easy to get online and in PDF format. So better have them than later regret it. I think normally those are required for self employed people, but I'm still going to ask my fiancé to get them, for 2016 minimum, and better 3 more years ).

- Copy of NOA2

Hope that helps, but I think the most relevant documents regarding the economic part are determined for the income or assets you use in your Affidavit of Support. i.e, if your salary is enough, then the letter for the employer and pay stubs, along with the W2, are probably the vital part, since you don't really need bank information.

I don't know if I've explained myself clearly enough and hope this helps. Anyway, I have to say I'm not familiar with how the military works regarding paystubs and that kind of documents...

Thank you! :)

Good luck for your journey! I'm a late March filer (NOA1 on 22nd), so we might have a close timeline! :)

Yeah, that's different in the military; as far as I know he only needs to bring his LES or so, because that's an "employer letter" AND his rank explains his pay at the same time.
Would be great if another future milspouse could help out!

I just checked again,  and I don't see anything concerning tax returns in any list... maybe I mixed it up with AOS, not sure.

You are welcome, and yes, I hope someone in the same situation, and with experience, can help you out :)

Tax return and IRS transcripts are mentioned in point 5.C) "If Self Employed"... that's why I don't think they are necessary, but still saw lots of people gathering theirs even if not under that category, so kind of an optional thing, I guess.

Good luck!
