Do we need a senator/congressman to start the inquiry  or can we call to submit the inquiry outselves? Im over 5 months now. There is no valid reason for them continue ignoring my case.

It wasn't touched until a full week after my senator's office asked about it.

My lawyer says it's just coincidence and the inquiry had no effect. I disagree with him.

Our attorney said the same when we raised an issues with the inquiry due to over 150 days of waiting.

Same day we received approval, so we didn't proceed with inquiry.

Hard to say how it really works.

You can read the Q&A with a case adjudicator on this side -- if you're not actually flagged, the background check happens when they touch the case. The entire case is processed in about 15 minutes, including the background check, which is just putting your name into a system that searches databases for any problems.

If you're dealing with a high-fraud or high-risk country, there's probably additional checks that slow things down, but all the evidence says for most people, they're just sitting on the cases as backlog and process them in minutes once they actually touch them.

Then this would be true as to why it is taking so long for my case as well. My fiancé is from Jamaica and of course they are in the spot light always for fraud of many different kinds. It just sucks because if they look at my case thoroughly, my job alone would tell them I wouldn't take the risk if it weren't real...it is a huge risk for me, but he is worth it. My senator is actively involved. But they lied and told him they didn't receive my case till May and he sent in another inquiry because of this and that was to expedite the case, based off of military and job alone...hoping this works considering I am no longer active duty.

Precious golden letter showed in informed delivery today! Yaaaaay! 🙈

Can't wait till fiance will open it and send me photo.

But what's interesting is that I can see different date printed in the letter - 08/11 - while tracker and web-site say "approved on August 14th".

Any suggestions?

That's a normal thing happening, in the rare occasion the tracker updates. It's not rare seeing RFE'S updating on a Saturday, when obviously they were issued the day before... So my theory is the tracker updates one day after things happen... I don't know if always, but sure it happens.

just want to say thank you Laboz! for the private messages about the issue we are having. its been like pulling teeth with the lawyer getting them to agree. we even went to DSWD to confirm. So now we are going through changing the d160.. and waiting on his passport. but your information has been valuable to us. just wanted to say thank you!
