I would love September to be doable but I was aiming for October and aiming for September for my interview and medical. It will all work out in the end. I broke down last night chatting with my fiance because if I get this second job visiting him probably won't happen. I really really want this second job because even at 10 hours a week it would net me about an extra 400 a month and every little bit helps with this process. Some days for me are better than others. Some days I am super strong and I know I have this or like last night I just bawled on video chat for two hours while he patiently calmed me down like he always does.

My fiance makes funny faces in such situations, and it works better than calming me down patiently, maybe you should try that too:)

Oh woooow, that's gonna be pricey! But it will be the last ones before you go for good! :)

Yeah, I hope I can make it.
I have a verbal agreement with my boss that we will end my contract with no time limit. Otherwise I'd have 3 months.
But my apartment... no clue yet. My landlord comes over some time soon I guess, for utility bill for last year. Then I will tell her, and will try to figure anything out.
I don't want to cancel neither my job nor my apartment until I have the passport with the visa back.

So I have to find a way to get out of here without keeping the cancellation time.

Yeah, I am an expensive date:)

He has cats? It must be difficult to combine cats and the military service:)

And funny faces do make my life better, if he wasn't so goofy, it would be much more difficult to wait:)

Yeah!
He was so happy to get the first one after 12 years of touring around the world. He's a cat maniac! If he was female he'd have crazy cat lady potential hahaha

Since he's stationed around his hometown Virginia Beach and living in a normal apartment off base he was able to get the first kitty.
And when I was over last time we got OUR second one, to have a buddy for the first one, since he's working/pt'ing 12 hours a day.

I'm a cat lover too, so.... yeeeeeah! Can't wait to move in with my little family. :)
Only question is, what to do with my beloved guys here. I have two Guinea Pigs, who have an unknown destiny yet. My heart breaks by thinking of leaving them here.

Haha yeah, Scott said a part time job will be ok for me.
Someone has to take care for our zoo then.
We have the two cats, we want a Corgi dog, he wants a Koi pond, ah ok I forgot: He has an aquarium as well.... and my guinea pigs.
And I want a goat and an Alpaca, because they're hilarious lol

So I guess we'll need a farm :P

Oh my, your future zoo does seem impressive:D It would be a full time job looking after them:)

Do guinea pigs require passports and vaccinations to move to the US?

Does anyone know if the 'Return Transcript' is the right report to include with the affidavit of support? And is it the only one of these we need to include? Trying to get together what I can now so I have less to do once we get our NOA2. :)

The Dalai Lama, when asked what surprised him most about humanity, answered "Man.... Because he sacrifices his health in order to make money. Then he sacrifices money to recuperate his health. And then he is so anxious about the future that he does not enjoy the present; the result being that he does not live in the present or the future; he lives as if he is never going to die, and then dies having never really lived."

You can always vent Cuba and I promise to always listen. I can understand that with Easter. My fiance who is in the states said the very same thing to me yesterday. He was so very sad and missing me so very much. I said to him hey I hope I make it for your birthday cause its your 50th but if not I will be there by Thanksgiving in the States.

But yes I swear everytime I go to work a co-worker will ask questions. I finally said we are at day 22 this was 10 days ago she asked and she said oh and I said it can take 90 plus days to get our approval and even then its months from when I can go down. LOL It was my boss who asked and I understand cause I am giving them two months notice so that they can put an ad in the paper and hire someone and then I can train them before I leave. I am the Assistant Administrator at a Public Library here in Canada.

Ha yeah I hear ya on the so and so did this route. And I said so and so(my cousin) did it the wrong way and paid for it. She was like oh right. *rolls eyes* People don't get that to do this properly it takes time.

Thanks Pajobra!!

Yeah, I get the whole thing as that's the only thing missing.. being with my family yesterday and still not all of them know what I am going through and it getting brought up and as soon as someone finds out for the first time they always question or comment that he just wants to come here for a green card.. It's really annoying and sad and frustrating and then I make the mistake of telling him how things went and I bring that up and then it makes him feel bad and angry and upset that they aren't trusting what we have and the whole reason we are getting married. My sister also just found out because we aren't that close and I guess my mom had told her, I don't even know when, but I had tried to bring it up a few times and it just never seemed to work out, so my mom told her at some point, so yesterday she is take the cupcakes off her tiered cupcake display to put it all away at the end of the night and she is like... how come you never told me you are getting married? I kinda froze  lol and my cousin screams.. what?! you are getting married?! to who?! how long have you known him? how did you guys meet?... just a barrage of questions... then the how do you know he doesn't just want to come over for a green card... ugh then surprisingly, my sister said if I wanted her to make cupcakes for the wedding, she would gladly do it and showed me pics of the ones she did for her cousins using the cupcake display and it turned out really nice! I was surprised and she had a little cake for the very top of it. Talking about all this stuff makes it more difficult and seems to make the time drag even more. Like, we just can't wait for him to be here. He is so eager, he wants to quit his job to start planning for it and doing everything he needs to have done and i'm like... nooooo!!! you can't do that!!!  lol  I think you need to be employed because I am fairly certain they ask about that at the interview... anyone know how important that is?
But, I am so glad I can talk about this stuff here because everyone does know exactly what we are going through and how hard it is to be away from our not-so-nearest and dearest and there is no.. he could be using you for a green card.. coming from anyone reading this =)

Those questions are so draining! I don't know about other families, but within our Cuban families once you tell one person (especially a grandparent) EVERYONE knows about it the next day. My great aunt who lives in Florida and who I don't talk to even knew about him and called my grandma Christmas Eve asking when he's coming and what's going on. I was like wait... what the?!?! lol I kind of wish I could go back in time and not say anything about anything just so I wouldn't get all the questions and all the "stories." Kind of be like those people who come up missing and go to Vegas to get married and then come back and be like "WE'RE MARRIED!!!" But, then again that wouldn't be so good for front loading the petition.. The struggle.

That was really sweet of your sister to offer to do your cupcakes. That shows that even though y'all aren't that close that she still supports you and your fiance. & talking about it definitely makes it more difficult because it reminds you that you still have many months before you can be together and the process really isn't so easy. People say 6 to 9 months and in words it doesn't sound so hard, but the wait for everything is killer.

As for his job, it's not really that important even though they will ask both of y'all in the interview (if you're going to his interview)  what he does for a living. However, I've heard stories from people who petitioned their Cuban fiance who worked within the resorts and they lost their job because it's against the rules to date/marry a foreigner and even though they didn't have a job they still got approved. It's more if the petitioner is able to support the fiance once he gets here, but it may be nice if he kept working and trying to save money so that he can bring his savings to the U.S. and help out a little bit.

Oh, and here is a question for anyone who might know... I have seen in some people's timeline thing that gets automatically posted under a post that they do, where a bunch of stuff is listed like even the received date after it is transferred to a service center, can anyone tell me how or where I would find this info? I di get my hard copy and USCIS California Service Center is listed at the bottom of the page down on the left, but it doesn't say anything about when they will get my packet or that they are in charge of it anywhere in the notice... I only know it's there cuz of that address and the Receipt number is a WAC number which I had read somewhere that that is a CSC number identifier. Any info on this would be appreciated! =)

Are you talking about the same thing that's in my signature??

It's basically self made... I kind of just stole the verbiage from someone else's signature (SORRY! haha). I fill in the dates once I get the notifications by going to my account settings and updating the signature.

For example, I know I sent off my packet on 3/20, then I checked UPS to see that it was delivered on 3/21. I checked my bank account every day until I saw the check was cashed on 3/23 and then I got my text/email on 3/27 and my hardcopy NOA1 on 3/30. Now when I get my text/email for the NOA2 I'll go back into the account settings and update my signature with the NOA2 date and so on...

Let me know if this helps.

Yes, the return transcript can be submitted with the affidavit of support and you'll need to submit the last 3 years. In all truth, I'm taking my return transcripts, my W2's, bank statements, a letter from my job and I'll try to get a letter from the bank stating the average deposits of the last year and when the account was opened. My motto is it's better to have it and them not ask for it than for them to ask for it and then not have it. I may be going overboard, but I never know how backwards or difficult the Cuban Embassy is going to be. Cuba's motto "No es facil" (It's not easy). LOL

Awesome! I totally agree on having more in this scenario. Would hate to be denied or put on hold for something as simple as a bank document! I will be sending fiance my return transcripts, bank statements, pay stubs, letter from my job, and will also try to get a letter from the bank confirming my account info. Yup! That's my thought process too. I'm just printing out the deposit page on my bank statements... Really don't want them seeing I spend most of my money on fast food! HAHA!! Something that will come to a stop once mister gets here... My grandmother is already showing me how to cook Cuban food (29 years is a little late, but hey who's to complain).

I can't imagine that it wouldn't be enough with all of that evidence, but in truth we don't know exactly what they'll want.

LOL

I actually went to the bank last week while i was waiting to meet up with a friend (since it was right next door) and the lady at the bank told me that because of policy, they could only put how long i had been banking with them and what my balance is in the accounts and the last 4 numbers of the account number... they could not include any of the other stuff. Hope that doesn't affect anything too much.
Also, are just the W-2's alone not enough?  Do I need to send the transcripts too?!
