I would love to be there for it. Between the money and limited time off from work it's just too prohibitive. My fiancee's brother will accompany her to the interview for the hug afterwards. If it was up to me I'd have a taxi waiting for her to take her directly to the airport. But it generally takes a few days to process the visa so she'll have to return to Kosovo and wait.

How sweet! :)

My interview was on Tuesday, and I had my passport in the mail on Saturday. So it was pretty fast again!

Kosovars are forced to return to the embassy to pick up their visas. I'm assuming it's because of the lack of a good postal system there. My fiancee's sister-in-law just had her interview for her spousal visa last Wednesday and had to return to Skopje yesterday to pick it up.

It's 2 weeks already from the time they updated our case to RFE received. How long is the usual waiting for the response? And can I make an online inquiry even though I am the beneficiary? Thanks!

This Friday will mark 4 weeks since they updated our case to RFE received, when we called at week 2 they said to call back once it's been 30 days (this Friday) as 'apparently' we will be outside of processing time. I'm not going to hold my breath though.

I wonder why they are taking too long to update our status even though the RFE is just simple. I waited almost 4 weeks from the time we submit the response to received. Now, waiting again for another response. This is so stressful!

I remember you saying it hadn't updated to received after quite a while. Its absolutely ridiculous that they can keep us waiting for even longer after we have waited so long already. :ranting:

Definitely! Did you know how can i make follow up if you're the beneficiary?

As far as I'm aware it's only the petitioner that can call USCIS, once it *finally* gets to the NVC that's when the petitioner or beneficiary can call.

Having booked the flight for September with my K1 I take it won't be a problem flying on a return ticket as it was over £120 cheaper than a one way ticket

Nope, I've seen a lot of people do that and not have any problems.
