I havnt done anything yet ive just called nvc for a case # and im still waiting   apparently you can prep the ds160 form and go get photos taken because i believe you need a digital one to upload for the form and i think you can print the checklist online (at least in my country you can) and have it ready to email once your case goes to "ready" i instead of waiting for the paperwork to be mailed to you..

I just realized youre also canada  did you prepare your ds160?

You can prepare your checklist and email (google packet 3 montreal)

Thank you!! Yes, also Canada! I haven't done ds160 yet.

Our timelines are so close perhaps we will see you at the interview:)

Hello.

Please help me. On 8/8/17 I got the mail from NVC that they will forward our petition to the US embassy in Manila.

And the next step is to visit their website http://nvc.state.gov/k1

As I check the second step on applying a visa.

It says to complete the DS-160 , Online Nonimmigrant Visa Application.

Did you also fill up the DS-160? because I'm a bit confused.

As I track our case on the Nonimmigrant case tracker with the NVC case number, it says that its invalid.

But when I tried to track it on the Immigrant case tracker. I found our case status.

Should my fiance fill up the DS-160 or the DS-260?

Congrats! You're on the fast track now.

Go ahead and fill up DS 160 and then Print out the MRV, so that you can pay your visa fee to schedule your interview.

Medical has no appointment, but make sure to have it 1-2 weeks before your scheduled interview.

Good Luck!!

Did you have your NBI clearance yet?

Transferred? No

I just saw I told you to give it a try at USCIS, but I actually meant to say NVC, USCIS won't be helpful with that.

I'm sorry, it was almost 2am for me when I replied and had an intense day yesterday

Thank you! I can do this! I have to and I will! 😊😊😊

Great! :D
Now the marching will be faster! :D

@Yzabelle: Like @Estibaliz said: Don't overstress! Just reply he's in Quality Department. That should be fine. And for the language: Noooo worries. At my interview they said if I wouldn't understand stuff right, the vice consul who does the interview speaks my language. And if not, they've got interpreters. Nothing to worry, you'll be fine either way. You're not the first k-1 applicant with no fluent English :)

@GazLisa: You caught up maaaaaaate!!!! Now you're ready to win the Whinersrace, because I've reserved my flight for 22nd of September! :D

Thank you so much! :)) i can't wait til this interview gets done already.. I'm going to pass it no matter what😊😊 By the way, my fiancé has 2 W2s from last year because he was still working at his previous job until Feb of Last year. He started working with his current job February last year too.. But he only filed the one at his current job.. He filed for an extension for the previous job and just submitted it last August 11.. So here's my question, should I give the two W2 during my interview or just the W2 from the current company and the ITR 1040 from his current company?

The W-2 are for 2016 and match with that year taxes, so you should have all of them. I have three, because Gary switched jobs in July, and worked 1 day in a new job before knowing he had got a much better one at the county. We sure are going by the book :P

So basically, you could have a new job you got right now and still need the W-2 for last year taxes.

I don't have a copy of his 1040 from his previous job, just the W2.. what I only have is the form he filled up to submit to the IRS..

But I have the 1040 and W2 from his current job.. :3

I'm not an USC, so might be wrong, but 1040 are the taxes for all past year, so it includes all works and W-2 for that period.

Actually we had to amend Gary's last year 1040 because he had done taxes before receiving one of the W-2, so we did a 1040x, amended return, and when that was processed we got the tax account transcript, instead of the tax return transcript, so the changes show.

Transcripts are the easiest and best option, because you got PDF's you can easily print yourself.

I filled the G-1145 or whatever it was. but I think the electronic files mean they are transmitted to the embassies via the internet rather than snail mail. Not all embassies are part of the system as it's still under development. I think @Eric&Olya's case moved from "In Transit" to "Ready" in only a day or two if I remember correctly.

You're right. The G-1145 or any other electronic notifications don't have anything to do with being "one of our new electronic cases" (heard that sentence, too).

It just means that the case goes electronically from NVC to the consulate. I think I didn't even see "in transit". Missed out on that, because it showed "Ready" so quickly! :)

Ok I'm now confused what I'm supposed to do next. I called NVC and got my case # today. When I enter the number in the ceac tracker it says "at NVC" and I need to follow 6 steps listed on the nvc website  (selecting an agent, paying a few, submitting financials, etc...). Is this correct? Is this the same as ds160?? So lost. @Marzena & Stephen is this what you're doing too?

Like @Eric&Olya said: Ignore the steps. Having your NVC number you can do the medical, pay the fee and file the DS-160 while waiting for the Pack 3.

Don't worry, you don't HAVE to have the petitioner attending. It's maybe supportive in high fraud country, but usually you go alone for the K1 and will be fine! :)

Some embassies don't even allow the petitioner into the embassy grounds. I know Macedonia doesn't. If I thought it would help I'd consider going but the cost of traveling to Europe and sitting in a coffee shop waiting for her to walk out with the results is a bit extreme considering the ensuing costs of her travel to the US and AoS.

Wow, that's actually weird. You should think a consulate would let their own citizens in. At least if they're requesting that in any way.

I saw some couples at my interview, where the USC was with the beneficiary, but what I heard they all were CR-1; so different case.

I can only speak for me: I was fine doing that on my own. I wouldn't have needed Scott with me. It helped that I had a friend sitting outside waiting for me, but that was more for the whole nervous thing and to have someone to hug once you come out! :)

I would love to be there for it. Between the money and limited time off from work it's just too prohibitive. My fiancee's brother will accompany her to the interview for the hug afterwards. If it was up to me I'd have a taxi waiting for her to take her directly to the airport. But it generally takes a few days to process the visa so she'll have to return to Kosovo and wait.
