Day 29 here.. 1/3rd of the way there. Lord willing...

If I can vent a bit.. I know a few posts back I said I was grateful for my own space in this stressful time of mine. But... over this Easter weekend, an immense feeling that something was missing came over me. It wasn't until I sat down beside my grandpa and my uncle who were going back and forth about Cuba that I realized the only thing missing was my mister... I could picture him Corona in hand and in the middle of the convo; telling jokes the way my grandfather does... with a straight face lol I never know when to laugh or take them seriously. It just made the longing a little bit worse.

And all the questions!! How is he? What is he doing? When is he coming? Is he excited? So what are the plans?... oh and the best ones are the stories of "I just met someone from Cuba who got here a couple of months ago... they did it like this and this and then bam they were here." LOL! I'm always like "that's awesome!! But we're going the K1 route.. and yes it does take that long." People sure do have their 2 cents and see me as a piggy bank hahahahhaahaaa. I'm just ready for him to get here! Or at least get the NOA2!!

It's just the right place to vent, we all know how you feel:)

My fiance is lucky because his brother and his wife did K-1 a couple of years ago (she is from Ireland), so at least there are no silly questions from his family, they all know how long it takes. As for me, here in Ukraine we are used to time-consuming bureaucratic quests. It doesn't make us miss each other any less though:(

Yeah, I get the whole thing as that's the only thing missing.. being with my family yesterday and still not all of them know what I am going through and it getting brought up and as soon as someone finds out for the first time they always question or comment that he just wants to come here for a green card.. It's really annoying and sad and frustrating and then I make the mistake of telling him how things went and I bring that up and then it makes him feel bad and angry and upset that they aren't trusting what we have and the whole reason we are getting married. My sister also just found out because we aren't that close and I guess my mom had told her, I don't even know when, but I had tried to bring it up a few times and it just never seemed to work out, so my mom told her at some point, so yesterday she is take the cupcakes off her tiered cupcake display to put it all away at the end of the night and she is like... how come you never told me you are getting married? I kinda froze  lol and my cousin screams.. what?! you are getting married?! to who?! how long have you known him? how did you guys meet?... just a barrage of questions... then the how do you know he doesn't just want to come over for a green card... ugh then surprisingly, my sister said if I wanted her to make cupcakes for the wedding, she would gladly do it and showed me pics of the ones she did for her cousins using the cupcake display and it turned out really nice! I was surprised and she had a little cake for the very top of it. Talking about all this stuff makes it more difficult and seems to make the time drag even more. Like, we just can't wait for him to be here. He is so eager, he wants to quit his job to start planning for it and doing everything he needs to have done and i'm like... nooooo!!! you can't do that!!!  lol  I think you need to be employed because I am fairly certain they ask about that at the interview... anyone know how important that is?
But, I am so glad I can talk about this stuff here because everyone does know exactly what we are going through and how hard it is to be away from our not-so-nearest and dearest and there is no.. he could be using you for a green card.. coming from anyone reading this =)

Funny about the green card thing. The most my fiance gets is why would a Canadian come here you should go there. LOL I admit we did discuss him coming up here but I have way more job skills than he does and I can work pretty much anywhere and I don't mind working anywhere. I will work at Subway if I have to because I know Subway. I worked for Subway here in Manitoba, Canada for 8 years and only in the past 2 years did I start working at the library I am at now.

I love World of Warcraft. :D My best friend in Second Life got me addicted to it last fall. Yeah I was late to the bandwagon. Always am I run to the beat of my own drum. LOL My fiance doesn't play WoW because he says bunnies keep killing him. HA Its not his thing but he is glad I have something to do when I am off work and he is at work.

Oh, and here is a question for anyone who might know... I have seen in some people's timeline thing that gets automatically posted under a post that they do, where a bunch of stuff is listed like even the received date after it is transferred to a service center, can anyone tell me how or where I would find this info? I di get my hard copy and USCIS California Service Center is listed at the bottom of the page down on the left, but it doesn't say anything about when they will get my packet or that they are in charge of it anywhere in the notice... I only know it's there cuz of that address and the Receipt number is a WAC number which I had read somewhere that that is a CSC number identifier. Any info on this would be appreciated! =)

There is a little triangle next to your name in the top right corner, click on it and choose "Account Settings" and then "Signature"

I'm sorry Holly, I must have misunderstood your question at first, it's so cold in here that my brain is frozen:) I thought you were asking how to attach that information to your posts:)

As for the Received date - when you check your case status here https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/landing.do  using that WAC number, you can see "On March XX, 2017, we received your I-129F..." - so that March XX would be your Received date.

On the one hand, they are more interested in you being able to support him financially, so whether he is employed at the moment or not shouldn't be a decisive factor. On the other fact, they would probably like him to show that he has some marketable skills, I read about some beneficiaries being asked about their education, plans to find a job, level of English, etc.

I don't know any specific details about Romania but I think it's too early to quit the job, there's not too much to do before the interview anyway. Even if I had some additional income and could afford not to work, I would do it nonetheless, just to keep busy and not to be too obsessed with waiting.

So, if you look at the post by kquyen from the previous page on page 59, you will see how their time line looks and how it says that it was routed to CSC and even when CSC receives it... I am wondering where to find that info. Like is that online somewhere?  it is not in my hard copy.

I would assume their first date is when they got some notification from USPS (or whatever they were using) that the package was delivered, and the second date is the Received date that can be found on the USCIS website. Kquyen could probably give you a better answer:)

Anyway, they have received it! Now you just need a lot of patience - haha, easier said than done, and (relatively) soon we'll have our NOA2s!

Agrees with this on the working side. I am giving two months notice at my job give or take how long it takes them to find a replacement and how quickly they learn as I train them. Technically I only have to give two weeks notice but I am being nice. lol So yeah I will be giving notice before my interview takes place which is a no no but I can't be away from my fiance longer cause it will drive me batty.....well more than it already is. hahaha I really hope the EAD won't be too long because I feel bad that my fiance will be paying for my canadian cell phone. Unfortunately I am under contract until January 2019. lol But I think once I am working I will just pay out the contract and get the phone unlocked.

I am glad I am working though because it gives me strong ties to Canada so that I can go on a trip to see my fiance in July. :D Oh I can't wait. I miss him so much.

Aww I know exactly how you feel. Yesterday was my fiance's birthday so this past weekend was one of the toughest so far. It never gets easy being away from our loves. :(

The Dalai Lama, when asked what surprised him most about humanity, answered "Man.... Because he sacrifices his health in order to make money. Then he sacrifices money to recuperate his health. And then he is so anxious about the future that he does not enjoy the present; the result being that he does not live in the present or the future; he lives as if he is never going to die, and then dies having never really lived."

Well hopefully July. :o My brother-in-law knows I want to make some extra cash and asked if I wanted to apply for a minimum wage job down at the golf course. He is the president of the golf course club. I would like to make some extra cash because every little bit helps and I only work 23 hours a week now. He said it would be evenings and weekends probably 10-15 hours a week. I will take it if I get it. *crosses fingers* So not sure I will visit now probably will but maybe for only a few days instead of the 10 days I had planned.

Yay for vacations. :) Gonna book my tickets next week to fly down and see my fiance for 9 days in July. I am super excited. That will be about halfway hopefully between now and Visa time so that should make waiting easier. Also since he works during weekdays it will give me a chance to get a lay of the land for when I finally do move down in the fall hopefully. Today is day 28 since our NOA1.

Thanks @CubaAndChill for doing this for us March Filers. :D

March filers here too

Hey fellows! :)
I hope you've had a terrific Easter, although everyone of us is missing someone.
I'm still busy with sorting and getting rid of my household stuff. It's still increasing; at least that's what it seems to me! :D

So great to see so many people here booking flights to visit their loved ones. :)
I kind of envy you, because we won't travel until I go for good, to save vacation days and money. My paranoid brain already wonders if they'll doubt us being bona fide, because we didn't see us since I stepped on my plane back on January 2nd.

Plus he's in the military, right now stationed at a school installation kind of thing, where it seems a pain to get leave. He wanted to surprise visit me RIGHT NOW, end of April, but since they never get going with leave permissions, it failed. Now we finally decided to wait til I come for good, because he likely can't get leave in summer, so it's only a little longer until I move.

Still: sighs... He would have loved coming back to Germany for one more time.
