Guys! I have a question to some US citizens here on this thread. My fiance's name is Scott Anthony Lane but the name written on his US passport is Scotty Anthony Lane. I asked him why did the agency put Scotty on your passport and he said the lady at the passport agency ask me which name I want to put in if Scott or Scotty, I asked her if its ok and she said yes thered be no problem. Its just the same name, so I said okay just put Scotty since  other people call him that way too. Idk even when he said its ok it still worries me. We put Scott Anthony in all our paperworks for this petition. Do you think it will matter? Is it really okay in America? I mean, cos in the Philippines whatever name is written in your passport should always be the exact same name you will have to put in every paperworks or Id's.

Not an issue here in US

Hi guys! Again, I need your comment on this.. I'm finalizing my documents and then noticed that in my fiancé's g325a, his work is Quality Control, I also wrote that in his I-134 affidavit of support form.. In his ITR, his work is manufacturer.. In his Certificate of Employment, it's QUALITY ASSURANCE INSPECTOR. -___-  I asked him right away but he's still working.. I'm worried. Will this one even matter? :(

Nope

What he earned last year is all that matters

I just looked up the requirements on the Washington DC marriage license requirements.  If you are getting married in IA then here is the link for Polk County - https://www.polkcountyiowa.gov/recorder/departments/vital-records/marriage-records/

Odd how in IA you have to take the witness to get the license.  Ain't that a hoot?

@Yzabelle Hey! So you might check with other Philippines filers, but for my fiance (and what I have seen for others) is that they actually conduct the interview in the countries native language.  So my fiance's interview was in Spanish :) Hopefully yours will be the same.

For the job title, also common for those two titles to be inter-changeable.  I am actually a Quality Assurance specialist, but often get referred to as quality control.  You are good to go!

So when they ask me what is his work, should I say Quality control? :( I'm so confused. As much as possible I don't want to do or say something wrong during my interview..  he earned a lot last year. It's more than enough for 2 people in households..  that's what I'm just worried about..

Omg! I'm so glad I read your comment.. So you think it won't be a problem if it's different from G325a and his Certificate of Employment?

Yes.. Even here in my country, but I will try my best not to use the interpreter.. I'm just so anxious right now..

They may ask what he does, and they might care if you generally know his job title, but they are more concerned with the income.  That's not a problem.

The other side of the question is establishing a bona fide relationship and you being familiar with what your future husband does to earn a living is a fair question.  While your background may include manufacturing goods, his workplace is half a world away and his exact job title is not something they will expect you to know.  Just generally what he does in a work day that you would have picked up in conversation with him.

Here in the US, our actual duties are usually different from the title.

I have full confidence your going to be perfectly fine in interview.  Don't stress, you are already prepared :)

Thank you so much! I appreciate this.. I really want to pass the interview.. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.. I need to do it, I can and I will.. My fiancé has already sacrificed a lot in order for us to be together. :(( I miss him and really want to be with him.. I feel so anxious too because I'm worried I might not be able to head the consul.. I have mild hearing problems ☹️

By the way, I'm really waiting for your approval! How about try to call the USCIS Tier 2? I can't wait til I see your WE GOT THE NOA2 post! :))
