That's mean they're touch / review your file now. We got the same message like this when we sent online inquiry two months ago. It takes 2 weeks for them to give us new update and at that time, we got RFE.

Somebody else from February filers got the new update after 3 weeks they received this same message, they got NOA2 letter. Each case is different, all you can do now just waiting. Because they're now working on your file. Best of luck for you!

How were u able to sent the online inquiry? I would like to inquire about my case.

Guys! I have a question to some US citizens here on this thread. My fiance's name is Scott Anthony Lane but the name written on his US passport is Scotty Anthony Lane. I asked him why did the agency put Scotty on your passport and he said the lady at the passport agency ask me which name I want to put in if Scott or Scotty, I asked her if its ok and she said yes thered be no problem. Its just the same name, so I said okay just put Scotty since  other people call him that way too. Idk even when he said its ok it still worries me. We put Scott Anthony in all our paperworks for this petition. Do you think it will matter? Is it really okay in America? I mean, cos in the Philippines whatever name is written in your passport should always be the exact same name you will have to put in every paperworks or Id's.

@AfricanQ you can submit an online inquiry if you're out of processing times.

Here's the link for sending online inquiry :

I just called NVC and asked the girl (she sounded sooooo bitchy) if they already received our case from USCIS. She was not helpful at all. She just asked for WAC number from USCIS and just told me to call after September 14 like #######!

Did someone tried to call NVC about the case number?

Here is our timeline just for reference 😀... we got our marriage licence the same day my fiance entered U.S. all we needed for DC was my Virginia drivers license and his passport. Then a week after his POE we went to the social security office with his passport and a printed copy of his I94 to apply for his SSN. He got the card a week later in the mail... two weeks after POE. Definitely don't need to wait the 2 weeks to go apply for ssn!

How do you find out what is required for each state?

Hi guys! Again, I need your comment on this.. I'm finalizing my documents and then noticed that in my fiancé's g325a, his work is Quality Control, I also wrote that in his I-134 affidavit of support form.. In his ITR, his work is manufacturer.. In his Certificate of Employment, it's QUALITY ASSURANCE INSPECTOR. -___-  I asked him right away but he's still working.. I'm worried. Will this one even matter? :(

Marriage Records

MARRIAGE LICENSES

If you want to get married, you’ll need a marriage license.

  1. Marriages in Iowa are between 2 people who are (1) 18 years of age and older; (2) not already or still legally married to someone else or each other; (3) not closely related by blood or first cousins; and (4) legally competent to enter into a civil contract.
  2. Minors. Persons aged 16 and 17 may only marry with special permission from a judge and should request a "Consent to Marriage of a Minor" form when making application for their marriage license (At least one parent or guardian must sign the consent form). Complete the form and present it to a judge within the same judicial district as the county in which you wish your license issued. The Clerk of District Court office can provide additional information. Return the signed form in order to complete the marriage application process.
  3. To apply for a marriage license the couple intending to marry and one witness (someone that’s acquainted with the couple and is 18 or older) must come into the office and fill out the application. The applicants and witness must have a photo I.D. The fee is $35.00.

Valid Date: When the marriage license valid date is computed, the day of application is excluded. Then 4 days after that the license is valid (weekend days are included in count). So:

Date of Application Valid Date of License
Monday Friday
Tuesday Saturday
Wednesday Sunday
Thursday Monday
Friday Tuesday

The license does not expire unless it is not retrieved from the County Registrar within six months from the date of application, the application is then considered null and void.

If the applicants are unable to come in to our office in person, we can mail the application out or you can print it here. This form must be completed and signed before an authorized notary public.

MARRIAGE CERTIFICATES

Effective January 1, 2014, State Fees for Vital Records searches will be increased to $20.  Click here for more information.

To obtain a raised seal certified copy of your marriage certificate, you may write to us or come into the office. We will have your record if you applied for the license in Polk County.

For records we do not have, you may contact the Iowa Department of Public Health. You can contact them by phone at (515) 281-4944.

You may use the form provided here to write to us or you can come in and see us. A fee of $20.00 is required for each request. Accepted forms of payment include cash, check, credit card (Mastercard, Visa, Discover) and money order.
