Soooo.... who else has ever heard that standard procedure for a third molar (wisdom tooth) extraction includes a week long hospital stay? It's interesting to learn about crazy medical practices/ideas in other countries.

It depends on the position of the roots in the jaw, not on the country:) I had two wisdom teeth extracted very quickly and went to a birthday party on the same day, but when a friend of mine found out that hers need extraction, it turned out that the roots are positioned horisontally, so she would need a real surgery, as in cutting her jaw open, not just pulling the teeth out. She hasn't done it yet because when she first found out, she was pregnant, and now she is breastfeeding. But she is going to, and yes, she will have to stay in hospital for several days

Welcome back!

I think everyone deserves it equally.

If I were in charge of USCIS, I would approve everyone within a week or two.

If every piece of paper is scanned, it could be done by people who can read quickly and make decisions.

That does make the procedure a bit more complicated. All four of mine had mesial impaction (teeth angled forward instead of straight up) and required some minor bone removal for extraction. The hardest part was trying to eat the ice cream my mom bought me without any feeling in my face. I think I wore more ice cream than I ate while my mom laughed at me.

Sounds like fun:)

I was trying to eat tiramisu in the same way at that birthday party:)

Thank you all =) Just confirming as I just got home... it is in fact my NOA2!
It's a good thing I was at work (and not alone) when I accidentally discovered this in my informed delivery because I could not break down and cry happy tears like I would have did if I had been at home  lol  I opened it to show my friend/coworker and I saw it, but my screen is kinda small and I thought that's what it was, but I just kept looking to make sure I was seeing it right because I just couldn't believe my eyes.
I was just thinking about how at the beginning of the week, I had a feeling about this being the week (I think I even said that in a post here) and how on the 8th (my approval date) I had had a dream that night/morning about my F coming here and he had just gotten here and we were going out to some different places and I won't bore ya'll with the rest, but maybe my instincts and then the dream was actually on to something.
Anyhow here is the breakdown of the process so far,

My fingers are still crossed for everyone.. and toes too! It does sound like they are picking up the pace a bit so hopefully it won't be too much longer as I also know all too well that the pain and struggle is real.

Congratulations!!! That load of stress coming off those shoulders feels amazing, right? Good luck with the rest of the process, and may everything move swiftly and smoothly!

Thank you =)
This just feels so relieving... just knowing that he SHOULD be here in time for our wedding. Like now I know we are over the biggest hurdle and I just feel like I can breathe now. And knowing that I am not gonna put so much energy into the worry and concern about that and that energy can be put towards other things now.

Searching only turns up stuff from 2015......   For PH beneficiaries - What is the amount of the NAIA Terminal Tax?  and is it traditionally included in the airfare? or has to be paid standing in line?

Hello! It's travel tax and It's 1,620php, No it's not yet included on airfare. No terminal fee need to pay. Some airlines have the options to pay it as additional on the airfare when you book online or pay it cash at the airport.

 Good thing I'm an evolved human being with no wisdom teeth... But yep, no way they are going to have you even a day at the hospital because of that here.

So what is that packet 3, packet 4? I don't get it

Pack 3 is the letter you get from the embassy after they got the case from the NVC.
It's a checklist for the documents you have to send in then.

Pack 4 (at least here in Germany) is literally just the email notification after pack 3, after which you can schedule your interview.

Oh, that's weird. When they got our case they sent me an email which was saying that I can schedule my interview.  But they didn't ask me about any documents that I have to send them back.  So after it I just scheduled my interview and got an email with congratulations.  Also that email had a list  with documents that I have to send them at least 3 days before my interview.

Little bit different.  I don't know what is packet 3 or what is packet 4 here lol.

Maybe you should sneak over to the Russian subforum and ask there what Pack 3 and 4 are specifially in Russia. :)
It's very embassy specific as it seems! Also the order of scheduling medical and interview. Better ask there! :)
