Sorry bout that... long story short... I checked my informed delivery after I got to work cuz I was telling a coworker about it and... there it was!! I'm fairly certain it is my NOA2!! I could see the date of Aug 8 and postmarked the 9th.

I think this is the first Part One and Part Two    'I got approved' post LOL

I'm so happy!!!

What are the left behind march NOA1 people suppose to do now that uscis is working exclusively on aprils? Seeing all the April approvals flood in on this site now leaves me without hope.

Don't lose the faith, we saw them working on March this past week. There's nothing exclusive yet. Fingers crossed for your approval :)

Soooo.... who else has ever heard that standard procedure for a third molar (wisdom tooth) extraction includes a week long hospital stay? It's interesting to learn about crazy medical practices/ideas in other countries.

Half of the few NOA2s that went out this week were March NOA1 dates. (But this week was very, very thin as far as NOA2s go.)

trust me, there is nothing worse than a week in a hospital.  Even if they are impacted, times 4 teeth - I can't imagine anything more than outpatient.

I have heard of excision in combination with a under or over bite correction - usually requires NG tube feeding - probably something you don't want to do at home :)

Is there more to the story than you are being told?

Seems fishy to me, but I'm only familiar with basic dental procedures in the USA. I was under the impression that cutting hospital stays to the minimum was the modern practice for hygiene, psychological and economic reasons. My mom's friend just had a back surgery a couple weeks ago and was out in 3 days to finish her recovery at home, and that's quite a bit more invasive.

Years ago, back surgery involved rest, traction, and weeks of inpatient care.  Soon studies showed the lack of mobility actually inhibited recovery.  Definitely, hospital stays are to be avoided at most costs.  In today's world, the high cost of healthcare and the risk of nosocomial infections (many drug resistant) in healthcare settings, inpatient care is scrutinized thoroughly by the people that pay the bill,  Even open heart surgeries have a visit from the physical therapy tech the following day to get them up and stand / walk but it's in the patients best interest for the fastest discharge home.

Perhaps a 2nd opinion is in order..... I'd be rather demoralized if I had a weeks' incarceration for a dental procedure.  Perhaps there is more to the procedure than just the teeth.

Spoke with a neighbor from the Czech Republic and she says it's feasible as it is a fairly new procedure in Eastern Europe, so they keep patients for an extended period of time to monitor progress. Also spoke some about odd health superstitions from Eastern Europe like people thinking you can get sick from walking around in bare feet or that cold air causes the cold instead of bacteria. She said it took her quite a few years to see that her previously held ideas were silly, even being a very intelligent lady (Ph.D. in chemical engineering). I find these cultural ideas and nuances extremely fascinating.
