She should have received via snail mail from her fiancé all signed and dated by her fiancé:

  • Letter of intent to marry
  • G-325a
  • Passport style photo (also signed and dated and taken within 30 days of USCIS receiving)

They like to see the actual wet signature of the fiancé.
To be safe, I had my fiance make 4 of everything and send me 3 in case there was any kind of issue along the way. And i had him sign everything with a blue pen since that is what I had seen on a youtube video that was done by a lawyer.

Actually a lot of couples have sent the G-325A and the intent to marry through email, had their fiance sign it and then scan and email it back and they've been able to get their NOA2 and had no issues with a copied signature.

The passport style photo doesn't require a signature on it, just their name. I put the names on the back of the corresponding passport photo and then I put my fiance's and my passport style photos in a little zip lock baggy with "passport style photo of XXX" on it as well and paperclipped it to the G-325A.

There was a DHS agency memo a few years back that instructed adjudicators to not issue a RFE in the case of the G-325A or intent to marry not having a wet signature. However, I was advised by both my friend who is an immigration attorney and the visa service I used to send wet signatures anyways just to be safe and 100% within the published rules. Not all adjudicators may have been instructed on the change of rules within the agency vs. what we are given in the I-129F instructions. My fiance wanted to be EXTRA EXTRA careful and sent me three signed copies of each.

Yup! I ran into lots of conflicting information right at the beginning. It caused some confusion with my fiancee because she was also getting conflicting information from a former university classmate of hers that came over here on a student visa. This all happened the week after I returned home from my latest trip to Ukraine. Emotions were still a bit high, and this gave us the opportunity to work on our communication skills. Everything has worked out great and we were able to build from the confusion.

That sounds just great! I know we have had some communication issues with the language barrier and all... his English has gotten so much better since we have been talking and some people don't even hear an accent when he speaks... however! sometimes we will be talking or in a debate about something and he will say something that will set things off and we will argue about it for a quite some time and then I will start to think about the argument itself and what it is pertaining to and think... this does not even make sense, does he even know the meaning of what he said?! and I will ask him and most of the time... what he says means one thing to me but he will have a different idea of the meaning so, essentially we have these arguments over nothing other than the language barrier itself  lol On the other hand, when we are together in person, that issue is not there. I hope this made sense and I am not babbling hehe
And I hope I am not the only one that has this happen.. it would just make me feel better/normal (and not alone in the matter) if I knew it happened to others... So, if this happens to anyone else.. please tell me =)

Hi Maria. She may get an RFE. We're supposed to send in 2 G-325A one for the petitioner and one for the beneficiary with the corresponding signatures. I don't believe the petitioner can sign the beneficiary's G-325A form.

Thats what i told her also. But her F insisted on her not sending G-325a with wet signature. Thats what shes worrying right now. But for sure right? Its going to be an RFE.. thanks @CubaAndChill

I did too, I had spoken to someone who went through the process and he told me I needed to send all this information in with the application that I actually don't need until the interview and then I found VJ and found more conflicting info LOL. Then I was actually considering getting a lawyer to do everything because it seemed to be so complicated. But, after asking so many questions and everyone helping me out through VJ and seemingly knowing their stuff, I completed my packet to the best of my ability with all the information from this site and now I'm just praying on it. I did get wet signatures on my forms though, just in case, like you Holly. I didn't want to chance anything and it was a good excuse to go see mister again before sending off the packet. I did make copies just in case of anything.

Oh man, don't get me started on communication skills! We've had a couple communication skills tests. I'm Cuban too but born in the US, so even though I speak/understand Spanish I know I've hit a nerve when he starts speaking so fast all his words are formed into one and I'm only able to pick out a couple of them to understand... The joys <_<

Yup, most likely. She should start getting the corrected forms done now, so once she receives that RFE she can send the corrections immediately. Usually it's not too long of a delay, maybe a week or 2 depending on how fast of a turn around she can get the corrected forms to the CSC.

RFE's aren't always bad. At least they know that someone has went through the file and will be approved once they send in the corrections.

Well my fiance and I decided we could not wait until I move down there to see each other again, Skype is not enough. So I am planning on going down to visit him in Colorado sometime in July for 9 days. We will figure things out financially to do it. I miss him too much to wait until then. Shouldn't have a problem going down since I will have a return ticket and will only have my small suitcase. My boss already said she would type up a letter about how I have to be back at work on such and such date.

No, I completely understand. My fiancee speaks English quite well. I was extremely impressed when I met her considering she has never had the opportunity to practice regularly. Sometimes phrasing and word choice is a bit awkward. I'm very empathetic though, as I know exactly what it feels like to try to come up with the right word in a non-native language. Different dialects can be fun. A word that is completely innocent in one place can mean something completely different in another region. I learned Spanish years ago, and know very basic Russian and am continuing to learn with her. I was surprised when I asked her if she'd rather I learn Ukrainian, which is very similar, but she said Russian would probably be more useful. It's also much easier to find resources to learn Russian than Ukrainian.

Hi Everyone!

I am starting to pack some of my things and I was wondering if anyone has ever brought nursing/medical textbooks to US. Do you think there will be any problem or issues from US customs like copyright issues? I'm planning to bring around 10 textbooks and some are really thick. And on the same note, I'm also planning to bring my vinyl turntable and record which was as gift from my F. It's portable yet fragile. Would anyone know of a way to safely transport it?
