My point was if they are processing January today, August 4th, how could they send a RFE for a March case in June?

So it's official - the letter is NOA2.  Here is my info:

NOA1
03/31 - Received date
04/05 - Notice date

NOA2
07/31 - Notice date

Day - 127

They list the received date and NOA2 notice date on the approval and it's interesting that they're exactly four months apart.

My Case Status and apps still say received

Yes, there were at least three this week. As it stands now, there are only four March filers from Canada that haven't had either NOA2 or a a RFE.

 

It is very likely that two of them are in the batch of NOA2s that went out this week -- there's a 3/28 (daffodillia) and a 3/29 (joannan) in the remaining bunch. If not, their odds are certainly high as most of the NO2s issued are for the very end of March.

 

That leaves us and pajobra.

 

Oh, and in five days, three different filers have their interview in Montreal.

I agree, just was saying June is not applicable. It's that NOA1 dates that USCIS is talking about when they say "we are processing cases from January", which is March for them, so your logic still applies. It's all worthless information anyway. 1) USICS are known liars and 2) we already know there are people with NOA1 dates in January that are still waiting, which is a ridiculous amount of time to be waiting.

You can see from my timeline that my case from the "at NVC" (when I got the case number) to "in transit" in...uh, about 12 hours. It's still in transit though, hasn't been received. I wouldn't call this the norm, I'd call this pretty far from the norm. From looking around, it looks like 4-7 days from at NVC to in transit (unless you get stuck with longer processing) and then about 5 from in transit to received. That's, of course, just VJers so it might be off by a few days.

The texas address you sent your petition to is a lockbox processing facility.  They take your money, give it a fast review for signatures and at least 2 forms (probably just 1 form now that 325 is not needed) then send it to California.  Your case hasn't transferred. Rarely a case gets transferred, usually due to a past encounter with USCIS.

Update your timeline to reflect CSC for more accurate predictions (even though you mailed it to TX lockbox)

That's actually a very interesting question, and I found the answer to it a few days ago.

 

They scan the case files electronically at the Texas lockbox, and process the payments there. It actually speeds processing up. As it turns out while somewhere there is a stack of paper that is your application, USCIS is working with scanned versions of it. There's no bin in a warehouse they have to go get the application out of to examine it, it's all online for them.

Here's a hard question:

Who remembers USCIS processing dates?

What dates did it change and to what date?

it was Jan 15 for a while, then to Feb 15 for a short while, then to Jan 1

Anyone know the dates they moved the goal posts?
