hey guys, me again! I called NVC again cause i'm stubborn, they received my case and assigned a case number. What do I need to do now? I'm sure this has been asked 1000 times but I appreciate you all :)

you can track it here https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx to see the status, it will show IN TRANSIT once it's left NVC, and READY once it's at the consulate.

Hi,

Any luck? This is what I get by entering the case number :(

Please follow the instructions you received from the National Visa Center (NVC) that list the six steps you must take before NVC can schedule your visa interview appointment. This includes submitting to NVC various fees, forms and documents. Once NVC has received all the required items, they will let you know if anything is missing or incomplete. You can also find these instructions online at http://nvc.state.gov (English) and http://nvc.state.gov/espanol(Spanish). You will find contact information for NVC at http://nvc.state.gov/ask.

This just means it's at the NVC, going through processing. It'll change to "In Transit" soon, once it's been sent to the embassy! Don't worry about the 6 steps, they don't apply to the K1 visa.

Once you have your case number you can do the DS-160 & pay the visa fee. This varies by country, so I'm not exactly sure how it'll work for you. But the 6 steps they're talking about are the whole "assign an agent" stuff, which doesn't apply to us. Once it leaves the NVC you can't really track it, but the same tracker will say "In Transit" when it's going to the embassy and then "Ready" once it's at the embassy. Then you should hear from the embassy, but you can always contact them first if you don't hear from them within a few days. I just got to the "In Transit" stage, so I'm going off of what I've read from other VJers lol.

Thank you very much!!

This information has been very helpful for me :)

I called today and got the case number and inv number. But was confused until you explained the process .

The officer at nvc today said twice I should keep an eye on my inbox as of today. Hope it means the case will be sent soon to embassy

Thanks again and a good night

Yep, we had this conversation already before, lol. Hypothyroidism here, meds for over ten years, but not major symptoms if any. I have checks once a year if everything goes fine... Every 6 months a couple of times, and once after only 3 months because it was messed up. I was just whining because I don't like the needle/blood treatment :P

And should be going off to bed indeed :)

AHHHH YOU GUYS!!

It's been a long time coming but we FINALLY got our approval!!! holy I still can't believe it. My fiance got it in the mail today but it was approved on July 31st.

Oh god im so relieved. And I'm rooting ferociously for those who are still waiting. Good luck and god bless to you all!!

Also next steps from other Canadians would be greatly appreciated. I've read up a bit but I'm still confused. Thanks so much in advance !!

Congrats!! Just curious does your case status still show received?
