Last night a friend who lives close to downtown stopped by. She came in and her smile changed to a concerned look and said my house feels soooo lonely. I asked why. I asked if it looked depressing. She said no, but that a person should not live alone in such a house. I got to thinking...all houses on this street are filled with families.

 

Now, I miss my fiance even more and look forward to it becoming "ours".

We're just doing a simple court ceremony, so there's really not much planning going on there. I did buy my wedding dress though, I could include the receipt. I know Sydney isn't a particularly hard embassy so it most likely won't be important.

I've been working on making my place more cozy and welcoming to my fiancee. I bought a fancier comforter set with a bunch of pillows. Sold some things (including one of my ultra rare tarantualas ) and bought a matching bedroom set. I went to Bed, Bath and Beyond and was paying for a shower curtain covered in a rose pattern and the cashier asked me if I picked it out myself. I chuckled and said, "No. I took pictures of all of your shower curtains and asked my fiancee which one she wanted." It's come quite a long ways from being a typical utilitarian male pad to something with some style and warmth to it.

This is great! I know that moving to the U.S. will be a culture shock for many of our fiancees.  Your efforts should help her adjust better, and [maybe] more importantly, show that you care.

I've done my best to have her involved in the whole transformation. When I was looking to move, I shared photos and videos of all the places I was considering. She helped pick our place. I made an account on Wayfair.com to share with her and told her to have fun making wish lists just so I could get an idea of her tastes and style. Then I'd do some shopping, send her photos of different options, and we'd decide together what to buy. I haven't shown her everything though. I always like to keep a few surprises up my sleeve that I know she'll love. It's been a fun way to pass the time waiting and building the anticipation of moving into a place that she's had a hand in making her own.

I feel your pain. We also received our NOA1 dated : 3/16.

So happy for everyone, but seeing all these approvals with dates almost two weeks after us is hard. I have no idea what the heck is going on in that office. Surely it is not done in order received.

Our case should be very simple, never married, no kids, no criminal records or anything, I just don't get it

So yesterday, a golden letter which is the NOA2 mail arrived!!! He didn't noticed the envelope until today  This is an answered prayer and an early gift since my fiancé's birthday is coming up 

Ours came as a surprise because it was approved 5days ago but we never got any notification from text/email/case tracker. I did a 500 scan last night before I went to sleep but our case still says RFE response was received. I didn't even bothered checking the informed delivery because  we were expecting that our case will not be approved until next week. 

For those who are still waiting for their NOA2, I know your trying your best to be patient. Just hang in there a little more, odds are your NOA2 is being sent to you as we speak 😊

07/10 - RFE Notice

07/21 - RFE response received

07/25 - NOA2 Approval

Case was approved 120 days after NOA1 date
