Uhmmmm... is it gonna count against you if you don't vote?! I am a non voter!!  I have only voted once in my life and when I saw that my vote doesn't count it pissed me off a bit and never voted again... and on a side note, yay for jury duty for a vote that didn't count =/
Now, I have added one more thing to my list that could interfere with a NOA2 =*(

What not vote :o Yes your vote counts. It always does. What if the next time you did not vote and your vote could have made the tiebreaker difference. I have been voting since I was 18 in every election. Its so very important. Which is why I will become a US Citizen as I want the right to vote. I could never imagine not voting. I have worked for all levels of elections in Canada. I was an election clerk in the municipal election in Toronto when I was 20. Such an experience. My first time away from home and it opened my eyes to electoral processes. Soon after I returned back to Manitoba I became the Assistant Returning Officer for my electoral district up north for the Provincial election. Again 4 years later except because I was working more full-time I was their computer tech and payroll officer. In the last Provincial Election I also worked but down where I am now. Seeing it from that side is quite amazing. But maybe this is because I am Canadian or because I grew up in a household where we were taught our vote does make a difference. My Mum also sat me down when I was 16 and talked about the different political parties because in school we were learning about them. We had to do a project on the one that we thought suited us best. My Mum told me she didn't care what party I felt more aligned with as long as I voted. In my family we vote for usually two different parties sometimes three different ones depending on the year. LOL

*gets off her soapbox* Sorry this is a topic I tend to get riled up about. ha *goes back to just listening for a bit*

The implication is that we register to vote and you are required to put your political affiliation on the registration form.  If your choice is incongruent to the affiliation of the person sorting your file -a potential for a bias appears.  Whether a USC actually exercises their right to vote probably would not have a bias as it is an expression of free speech.  Casting votes comes into consideration when someone is trying to become a USC and they have represented themselves already as being a citizen and registering and voting.  Immigration has a very dim view of this type of infraction.

In MN you don't have to register as republican or democrat. Just vote for whomever you please. They do not care here.

Some states are like that.  Every state I have lived required it to be stated on registration for primary purposes.

I don't know how it works in MN, but you never have to declare when appearing to vote in a primary?

Interesting....

In the primary typically the votes are in different places but you don't have to register as any party affiliation.

grrrrrrrrrrr march 24/2017 still nooooooooooooooo    noa2...........................visit twice thinking about a third maybe aug 31 or nov idk!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! this stressful long wait just to get a no or yes...

Feel ya

Trips are so expensive in the interim, too.  A cheap trip to the islands is 1500 including hotel and airfare.

But going too long between visits isn't an option either.

I'm due for another visit soon, as well.  I'd strongly prefer to have it coincide with a USEM interview LOL

Of course you don't have to declare your affiliation here. Voting is an obligation as much as a right, and the vote is secret.

Makes a lot of sense to me, because we have more than two big parties now, and you can be like me and vote based on programs and people, not just based on colors and parties.

Hey guys.  Long time no see.   We recieved rfe on June 13th but I just sent the response back last week

What is the typical turn time being seen for approvals after rfe?

It depends on the kind of RFE apparently, or it used to be like that. Some lucky people got approved 1-2 weeks after sending the response, but you can also see others still waiting after over a month.

If you update your timeline I think you'll get an estimate :)

Good luck!

You are right, silly timeline! It doesn't make sense they add the extra days counting from the RFE instead of when you send the reply

Still 2-3 weeks sounds like the average around here. Hope yours go fast.

Hi! Good to see that you are back:)

I think there's no typical time, we were approved in 5 days after they received our response, but some people have to wait for quite a while.
