Welcome!

Gracias, para la bienvenida. This a a great an informative forum.  It didn't occur to me to start working on the additional paperwork prior to my fiance's arrival. I have a question you mentioned about applying for SS card. where can that form be located?

You're very welcome :D

My fiance is from the Sancti Spiritus area. However, I have family sprinkled throughout Cuba as well. I had always been dying to go to Cuba since I was a little girl, as we say in spanish la sangre me llama (the blood calls me) and when I finally graduated from college I told my family "either you take me to Cuba or I'm going by myself!!!!" lol I'm the baby of the family so quite spoiled. Anyway, we finally went last year and saw a lot of family I had never met and my dad hadn't seen in 20 years, it was amazing. After about a week of going around the island we finally went to Cayo Santa Maria for another week to relax and do basically nothing and that's how me and my fiance met. He was working at the resort, my dad introduced us as they were speaking while my dad was waiting for my sister and I to finally be ready for dinner. I truly didn't think too much of anything when I first met him, as I had just gotten out of a bad relationship a couple years prior and wasn't looking for anything, but that same night the band was playing after dinner and I started dancing by myself, he asked to join in and then it was all over with after that lol It was funny because a lot of the guests at the resort asked if we were together and we both denied it... each and every one of them then said "well you should be" LOL. I guess it was fate of some sort.

I find myself coming back to this site and this topic nearly daily I am just browsing around...... waiting for everyone of you to post something about movement seems like torture yet some how comforting knowing I am not alone.... this is sort of like a group therapy ..... we are all in a common journey with so many obstacles, the process seems so intimidating but it does keep bringing me back...... good luck people LOVE and commitment are tested in this process and at the end for most I think a joy of each other is enhanced by this process as you really have to work for it...... but the human condition is so enriched by each of our stories... LOVE we need more of it and some of took the risk and the reward will be a love of a lifetime.....

I love the community we have all formed here. I came to Visajourney because my friend Dee and her husband Adam used it gosh 10 years ago now when they were going for the K3. She reminded me of it and said it will help keep you sane during the whole process. You will make friends that last a lifetime. She has met some VJers over the years. I look forward to chatting with you all so much. This thread and many others on VJ make the process so much easier to deal with because any question you are thinking of you can usually find the answer and if not just ask and someone will answer. What a wonderful online community VJ is and a great source of inspiration and love for us all to get us through this time of trial as we wait to be with our loved one.

Ha Love is something we definitely need more of. I am one of those girls that never dreamed of getting married. I was kinda a tomboy but girly in so many ways too. Last night when my fiance and I were talking about the eventual Wedding which will just be a small civil ceremony because its his second marriage and I don't want anything elaborate because its not me. I was fretting because I really didn't want a wedding dress. He said "Love you wear what you want to wear because the only thing that matters is that you and I are there and that we will be joined in marriage." Of course that made me bawl and I finally decided that a pretty summer dress I already own will work for getting married and hey its blue. lol I felt a lot better after we had that chat.

There probably won't be any movement on our cases for another few weeks, more or less, so it'll be right on time for us to track our updates.

I feel you!
I wasn't sure what to wear, since we're still not sure where to get married.
Either/likely it will be the High Roller (biggest Giant wheel in the world) in Las Vegas, or a beach one in Virginia Beach, or just a courthouse one in Virginia Beach.

So I went browsing through stores with my friend the other day, just looking. I wanted to try on something, because a) I never wore a dress in my life and b) I'm a "blackskirt"... my only "bright" clothes are jeans or sometimes grey. So I was curious if I even want a dress. Plus I'm tall, so usually all clothes are too short.

After the entire afternoon just looking we ended up in some prom dress store.... I found a white dress, tried on, my friend cried 3 times - bought! :)

And this will work for either one of our possible wedding places and it's feather light, so no problem with luggage!

YAY, first dress of my life will be the wedding one! :):):)

Do you have any idea of what would be the earliest possible to do the medical?

I've read somewhere that you can actually do it once you get NOA2... or at least once the case has the new casenumber from NVC.

Yeah heard you'll need the NVC case number plus the visa is just valid as long as the medical is ... and that's 6 months. So doing it too long before interview means visa validity ends earlier

Ah ok! I kind of remember that you need the medical for AOS? Is that correct?
Hm, in that case doing it like right after receiving the NVC number would be a hurry... in a way. Not sure.
I want to have it done a while before the interview, just to be done with it. I'm terrified for lung xray (smoker + hypochondric tendencies). Sounds ridiculous, but my brain is strange. :)

Oh, that is too cool!! Your first dress is your wedding dress!!  Good for you!! I bet you'll be a beautiful bride!!

We're planning to marry here in Kansas City, hopefully in September, then maybe go to New York for a few days. My fiancé lived in the states for several years mostly on the east coast.  He wants to show me Manhattan, I think. I have never been.  I really don't care where we go as long as we're together, right!  I last visited him in Norway from 11/29 thru 01/31.......now just waiting like all of our other friends here!!!

Oh great! :)
I've landed in Kansas City when I was 3,5 years old, hehe! My grand aunt has lived in the area around! :)
Wow, lucky! My fiancé is refusing going to NYC, hehe. I need to work on that! :)

Norway and Sweden are still on my bucket list as well. But that might take a while! :)

Yeah, I hope the waitiing for NOA2 will go by fast! Until now I'm surprised. I'm taking it pretty easily... YET. I think I haven't fully realized I will leave!
