Well, as we pass 7 weeks of our NOA2 but our petition not arriving at NVC, I woke up to an email from NVC research.....which said that USCIS had not replied to them on why our petition had still not arrived yet. They sent this:

----

Dear Sir/Madam:

The National Visa Center (NVC) received your previous inquiry regarding the status of your visa petition. We reached out to U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) to locate your petition, but have not received a reply. We will provide more information as soon as USCIS replies.

----

So....the waiting continues as USCIS and NVC cannot even seem to communicate as to why an NOA2 from June 6 still hasn't been submitted to the NVC, but people who received their NOA2 after us have already gone through the whole process and are getting (or have already had) interviews scheduled.

Sorry to vent, just one of those days where you initially thought you were getting good news...and then got the opposite.

This is something your congressperson can actually help with, you've got a solid paper trail for them to raise the issue with USCIS. I'd contact them and provide everything.

That note from NVC is pretty damning. I hope your wait ends soon.

On a related note, just for today's informed delivery. Nothing. Day 136.

The two NOA2s issued on 7/25 were day 132 and day 152 for their recipients.

The preceding four NOA2s were issued on 7/20 and were days 115, 115, 132 and 134.

Instead of just processing our cases... our estimated waiting times just keep getting pushed back a day.. EVERY day! ugh!
At least they can't ignore our cases forever! Can they?  lol

Seriously!! I stopped checking the timeline estimate two weeks ago when I realized it was only making me crazy  and obviously isn't something we can depend on definitively since it changes constantly as processing times get delayed.

The Dalai Lama, when asked what surprised him most about humanity, answered "Man.... Because he sacrifices his health in order to make money. Then he sacrifices money to recuperate his health. And then he is so anxious about the future that he does not enjoy the present; the result being that he does not live in the present or the future; he lives as if he is never going to die, and then dies having never really lived."

Thanks, yeah we were thinking about going the Congresswoman route soon if nothing happens. Now that NVC has replied, it might be time.

Sorry to hear you're still waiting on your NOA2. Crazy that there is such a wide-range of timing for these cases, hope you'll have some good news soon too!

It definitely is, and USCIS' non-responsiveness alone makes this urgent. This isn't something they can play off with a tier-one form letter, "within typical processing times" or any other excuse.

OMG!! This is not a drill....MY NOA2 IS ON ITS WAY!!!!!!!!!!! I'm literally so happy I could cry and scream and freak the eff out! I have goosebumps!!!

I have very mixed feelings about posting this because I know there are many of you with NOA1 way before mine that are still waiting, but I'm hoping that it helps others to see I got positive result from contacting my senator. I feel so bad that mine was approved before others because I know how it feels, but I wanted to share so you guys can try contacting your senator also. His office inquired with USCIS on July 24th and coincidentally my case was (according to the email below) approved on July 25th. I can only assume the inquiry prompted them to pull my case and approve the petition. Here's the text of the email I received back from my Senator's office. Took some text out for privacy.

Hello Traci,

I received the below response from USCIS in regards to your case. Good news – you should soon have the approval notice in the mail! Let me know if you have any questions!

Thank you,

Immigration Specialist

RE: I129F case #-WACXXXXXX

Good Morning,

Thank you for your July 24, 2017, inquiry on behalf of your constituent, XXXXX, regarding the I129F petition filed with U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS).

In receipt of your inquiry, a thorough review was completed on your constituent’s case. USCIS records show the following:

The California Service Center approved and mailed a Notice of Approval on July 25, 2017 for this case. The Notice of Approval was mailed to the address of record at:

XXXXXX

I hope you find this information helpful and have a good day.

Respectfully,

Congressional Liaison| DHS – USCIS | Congressional Liaison Unit - California Service Center

Oh gosh, congratulations!!!!  Would you mind messaging me which senator you went through and how you went about it?  I believe I'd have the same one and it looks like his office was able to get results!

Some abstract math...... imagine that 132 is your organizations new target for AVERAGE days for NOA2  You are sitting at 132 days on the L E D  sign hanging on the wall.  You approve 2 cases, a 132 + 152.  Your L E D sign goes up some points because of the 152 (in our example 137.5).  You reach behind and pull two 115's, and a 132, and a 134 - approve them and your L E D sign goes back to 132.  It's all like a game of Dominoes, if your tile doesn't have the correct number, it just doesn't fit and can't be put in play.

2nd: OMG! Don't feel bad! Just feel the happy you are feeling!
3rd: Thank you for sharing this info... I can imagine how hard it is, but still =) And it is great and useful info because according to the wording, it does kinda sound like they got a move on it due to the fact that someone else got involved.
4th: Why would we think this was a drill?! lol
5th: Gratz! time to celebrate! :jest: You should/could be there for interview now!!!

I know there's some that drop in and out of this thread have said some things, out of pain I'm sure, that might inhibit someone from sharing good news about an approval..... However, Whether it is a January or a May filer - I wanna hear it.  I'm so glad that you shared it.

Awesome! That makes two NOA2s today! I came here to post the Costa Rica update and the owner has already done so.

As another Arizona March filer, definitely spill the details on your inquiry, @KozmicBlues!

It's pretty clear they game the numbers, but there's so much old backlog now the only way they're going to be able to fix it would be to process pretty much all of it in one fell swoop (e.g. all outstanding Jan-Mar filings plus all Apr-Jun) if they wanted to keep the average. My guess is they just let the numbers climb. We're 0.4%, they don't need to care.

You have about 20 days wait time to get it to NVC  so the first steps are:

1. Sleep for the first time in the last 4 months

2. Go celebrate

3. Start reading guides on VJ and look up US Embassy Costa Rica site and read the country specific instructions.   Here is one discussion with some helpful advice

That's fantastic news! Congratulations!!! Now you have every chance to schedule the interview for the time of your September visit!

Don't feel bad, it's not your fault that USCIS is so illogical:)
