Sorry, I am not sure what you mean by scans... scans of what?

Their daily scans of all the k1s that were submitted in March so that we can keep track of how many are getting approved and where our case is in the bunch so we can have some kind of idea, or hope of when ours will get approved.

Yea of course, I'm willing to help in any kind of way! This forum has been nothing but helpful to me especially since I thought I was going to have to get a lawyer to do it all for me.

The DS-160 can be done beforehand. I have everything filled out on it for my fiance (I'm the petitioner) except his dads address, but we still have a couple months to get that information from him. He just sent me a picture of his passport and all the other questions that I didn't know I asked him while we were chatting on Whatsapp. He then went into the website and verified everything I filled out was correct. Make sure to save all of your information and to go into the application at least once every 2 weeks or so. I think the application deletes itself after 20 days of inactivity if you don't submit it and you'll have to start a new one.

For the affidavit of support, I recommend bringing more than what you think they would need. It's better to have it and them not ask for it, than for them to ask for it and not have it. That'll just make you have to wait even longer to enter the US, or your fiance to enter the US. This is what I've gathered for my affidavit of support: 2013-2016 W2's, tax transcripts and will be getting a letter from my job. I'll also be printing out my bank statements showing my deposits from my job for those years just in case my bank can't provide me the letter with all the information needed on it. The letter from my job and the letter from the bank is what I'm waiting on doing so that it'll be dated closer to the interview date.

As for right now, you can do a lot to get it out of the way beforehand and not be in a scramble to do everything once the time comes. Usually on your/your fiance's country embassy website it should have a checklist of what you need to do such as the medical and police certificates. It'll also tell you everything you need to bring to the interview. I've also filled out everything my fiance will need for his AOS and his social security card, well as much as I could without his A number and some other info. I know that once the fiance arrives into the US everything usually goes really quickly. So, for example as soon as my fiance enters, we'll be going to get his social security card (probably a couple days after so he can get some rest before the madness starts), and seeing about getting his drivers license.. After that, we'll get married and then send in his AOS packet so he can start working as quickly as possible.

I've also started thinking of things we can do around the city so I can get him accustomed to Houston since he's never been here nor in the US before. I've also been thinking about the honeymoon, since he won't be able to travel outside of the country until his AP comes, I was thinking of asking one of my sisters bestfriend's to use one of her timeshares in Austin or somewhere else. That way we can do a little get away but still stay within the US. I've also started buying him some clothes/shoes so when he comes he can have some what of a wardrobe because it may be cold by the time he gets here and Cuba doesn't really have clothes for the cold... or well clothes period for that matter lol

Hi @CubaAndChill! I was reading your conversation with Holly, and I wonder if you know the answer for my question.

About the 2013-2016 W2's, I wonder if we should bring from the past 3 years even if in 2013 his annual income was below the poverty guidelines. Thanks!

Hhii!! Eh, I know it asks for the last 3 years, so you can take the chance of not showing his 2013 w2 but they may ask for it or want to see it.

Uhmmm... actually, you are in luck! Now, the past 3 years is only W-2's including 2014, 2015, and 2016!:jest:

haha oh wait! I was also mistaken. I mean the year of 2013, which would be filed in 2014. But, still, does it matter if in the previous years he couldn't meet the requirements?

Ok, lets do this backwards. So, in year:
2017 we filed for 2016
2016 we filed for 2015
2015 we filed for 2014
Looks like you still don't need to worry about 2013! =)
