I hope he gets the NOA2. You'll need to show proof that your I-29F was approved.

Have you gotten all your documents ready such as the certificate of good conduct and translation of your birth certificate? If you haven't, get those done first because they may take a bit of time. You don't wanna schedule an interview and not be able to attend it because those documents aren't in hand yet.

Also, have your fiance sign a fresh new letter of intent, complete the I-134 as well as gather the tax transcripts, employer letter, paystubs and bank letter  now. These documents also require time to be obtained. He needs to send them to you before your interview.

In the meantime you can complete the DS-160 online and pay the fee. Remember to save the DS-160 confirmation page and visa fee payment receipt. Once you received the certificate of good conduct and translated birth certificate, check if your fiance almost have all the documents ready to be mailed to you so you could schedule an suitable interview date. Again, save the interview appointment confirmation page too.

Make sure to have a 2 weeks buffer between medical and interview. Our clinic takes 10-12 days to get the medical report ready for your collection.

I'm currently waiting to make an appointment for medical. Couldn't schedule early because my interview is towards end of August.

This is exactly why you don't plan anything concrete. Hopefully though you still can.

I still also have no NOA2 and am thinking I might not make it until spring cause I am not sure about travelling by car across the dakotas in the winter if its much longer to NOA2 but we will play it by ear. If I have to I will fly down with nothing but some clothes. Life is just one big IF and WHEN anyway. lol

I know there were a few filers who contacted their congress respresentative... any news from that?

Also is it pointless to call the USCIS and talk to a tier 2 about the status of my case .... I just don't want to keep feeling like I'm hitting my head on a brick wall over and over again by calling and receiving the same information 🙄

Sending good vibes to all the march filers !

It's possible, but every country past NOA2 is a little different as far as time to POE goes. It's really dependent on appointment availability, obtaining packet 3 documents and time needed between medical and interview. I read all over the place not to schedule a date in stone since there's absolutely no way to know how long the process will take. Fortunately the venue I chose and scheduled is flexible and I can change a date within two weeks if necessary.

The VJ Processing Timelines page will have information on average waits to get to NVC, NVC processing time, and probably most importantly your consulate's processing time. After NOA2, according to VJ it's currently taking 20 days for NVC to get the case, 8 days to process it and 5 days to send the case to the cosulate -- so that is 33 days tied up with the NVC. The good news is the japan consulate has one of the shortest waits to interview at 38 days. 33 days + 38 days is 71 days from NOA2, plus however long it take for you to pick up the visa. These are all current averages so it could go faster or slower.

Working backwards from you 10/7/2017 target, 71 days before that is 7/28/2017. It's not impossible that your NOA2 will come before then, but basically everything will have to happen at the current average times or better. Given the trend is for things to be taking longer, I wouldn't count on it happening in time but I certainly hope it does work out for you!

We're in the same boat. We were hoping for a 10/1 wedding date, and met with our lawyer on 1/15. Everyone thought there was plenty of time, and we know now there's no way that date will happen.

Hey we have the same exact dates for our NOA1!!! Sorry to hear about your situation. I will not make any wedding plans until my fiancee is here. We plan to have smaller ceremony here in the US but the full wedding will be back in Honduras with most of her family once she has the green card in hand so I don't see that happening until late next year :(

It's been a month since we received our NOA2........our case still shows "at NVC." Should we be worried?  I have called them 3 times this week, grrrrrrr.......just more waiting.

Congrats to all who've received their approvals this week!

Yeah, we're almost in the same situation as you. We got our NOA2 on June 6, but the CSC still hasn't sent it over the NVC - 6.5 weeks now. Supposedly NVC is investigating and a USCIS officer said he would note that the case should be moved, but no promises on either front. So, we're still waiting to even have our case get to NVC
