Hey everyone,

I'm on a vacation with my fiance for the past few weeks. We have the USPS Informed Delivery set up to keep an eye out for our NOA2. So far, nothing despite that our NOA1 was dated March 16. Yesterday, we received an email from USPS showing a letter from the National Visa Center. What does this mean? Did we perhaps missed the NOA2? We did not get any notification either.

An update!

I just received an email from the Malaysian Embassy to schedule an interview with them.

Does that mean the NOA2 has already been in my fiance's mailbox and the USPS Informed Delivery somehow missed it?

That's a bingo! You don't get anything from the NVC or the embassy unless your petition has been approved.

Interesting, who are you suppose to put as the sender for the USPS informed delivery for NOA2? I thought you have to mail the embassy in order to schedule the interview. I wonder if embassy typically contact you by email without knowing the NOA2 came in.

There's three April and even one May filer with NOA2. There's a UK filer in the database with a 2017-05-22 NOA1 and a 2017-06-29 NOA2. 38 days.

That's a military expedite but it still stabs my heart knowing USCIS can kick ### when sufficiently motivated and our waiting over four months isn't sufficient motivation.

There are two May filers who got approved now, probably both are military expedited cases. Let's hope there will be lots of approvals this week! :)

I have been wondering when something like this would happen.  It's been my fear this would happen to us.  But wow, WOW!  You just went thru USCIS and NVC and Transfer to embassy in an instant.

I guess you are back to panic mode now :)

Gratz on NOA2 and arrival at Embassy!
I had a day where Informed Mail Delivery did not show me all my mail, so I am thinking that sometimes, things just get missed. Sounds like it's a huge surprise for you though!
I think that this path that you are on, is pretty lucky... you never realized you got the NOA2 so you never had to wait around and stress for it to get to the NVC  just to stress some more about getting your # from them and then wait some more for it to get to the Embassy! Now... it's just go go go mode and a different kind of the good stress!

We're actually in Thailand when we got that email for the interview. Pretty shock that's for sure.

One more thing. Do we have to file for a marriage certificate in both countries or just one? We're looking at having a reception dinner in Malaysia around Christmas and another one in the US in January. Thoughts, anyone?

Congratulations!

Keep in mind you will need a copy of the NOA2 for AOS, so if the letter is not in the mailbox when you are back, you'll have to find out how to get it.

Also you only need a marriage certificate for the US. Actually, remember you can't do any kind of ceremony that makes the Embassy officer think you are too married for a K1 since you'd be denied.

Good luck!

Also keep in mind, K1 visa is good for one entry into the US. So, if you are both in US in November and go to Malaysia, there won't be a way to get back in to the US.
I would have liked to have gone to Mexico for a honeymoon, but because there won't be any way for my F to get back in to the US, we are honeymooning in Florida instead.

Aside from ur lungs, what else was checked?

It's a full check:
Lung X-Ray
Blood
Urine
Vision
and a general check-up incl. blood pressure and all that stuff.

But I think it depends on the country!

Haha, just something that made me giggle.
I've checked the example form for DS-160.

DOS seems to have humor... All sample names are from Game Of Thrones, hahaha.
There's Daeneris Targaryen, Arya and Sansa, Jon Snow....

:D
