I don't know how good of an example is that, but I can specifically say I'm from España (Spain), and we are instructed to not use the letter ñ when filling the DS-160, because it has to be filled in English... Of course, we have to use Spain, but they ask you to type Pina instead of Piña if that's your name. Just saying that's how US Immigration do things apparently, because it's considered foreigner alphabet.

I don't know if I explained that well :P

Thank you! Others also said the same thing 😊 I think she will be fine.

THANK YOU SO MUCH MY FELLOW MARCH WHINERS!!!😘❤️

Here's my experience:

My interview was at 6:40am and was able to get there at 5am from the hotel. They started to let us get inside the Embassy at 6am. I was the 9th in line and we were the first batch! First step was PRE-SCREENING at Window 41. It was a very nice old Filipino guy who asked me for the DS-160 and passport first. Then he asked my name and birthday. Then he asked my fiancé's job. He asked for my Birth Certificate, CeNoMar, NBI Clearance, Fiancé's Affidavit of Support, Latest Tax, 3 Months Latest Bank Statements. Then he also asked me when was the last time I saw my fiancé and how many times he had visited me here.

Next step was BIOMETRICS at Window 43. This time, it was a very serious American guy but his job was to do the fingerprinting. It only took me 2-3 minutes to get it done.

Then I proceeded to the INTERVIEW at Window 62. The consul was a very kind and happy lady. She asked me to raise my right hand and made me swear to tell the truth. Then she asked:

How did you meet your fiancé?

Have you traveled to other countries?

When was the last time you saw your fiancé?

Then she was checking something on the computer and looking at all the documents I've submitted during the Pre-Screening.

And then she handed me the IMBRA pamphlet and told me about domestic violence and call 911 if something happens.

She said the golden word, CONGRATULATIONS!!! YOU'RE APPROVED!!! Your visa will arrive in 5-10 days. Kindly register your address online. Have a great day! 😁😁😁

Then I said, THANK YOU SOOOOOO MUCH, MA'AM!!! 😁😁😁

Then at 7:40am, I went back to my hotel and called my fiancé! ❤️❤️❤️

Congrats!!! What a weight off your shoulders!

When did you have your medical? I'm assuming they already have the results at the time of your interview?

Also, did you have the originals of the I-134 and all the tax returns/bank statements, or a scanned copy that you printed out?

I've read mixed reviews on whether you need the originals or the copies would be ok?

And one more congrats!!! It's almost a happy re-union with your loved one :)

Thank you so much, @od17!!! I had my medical done on July 3 and 4. And yes, my case was ready for interview when I set an appointment at the Embassy so I assumed they had my results by then.

And yes, I provided all original documents. I didn't bring any scanned copy of my documents.

I think it's better to give them original documents. 😊

Again, thank you so much! 😘 I wish you all the best too!

Your interview is so easy @SolFreeman!!! I wish mine would be like that too! Thank you for sharing!

Yes, it was kinda easy but believe me I felt very uneasy and nervous inside the Embassy! Lol

You will get approved!!! Just know your fiancé very well and for sure you can answer every question so easy! 😘

I-134 requires a wet signature. Good idea to send wet signture with employment letter as well. 1040s, W2s pay stubs and bank statements can be copies since they do not have signatures and it's better for the person to whom they belong to keep originals for their own records. The IRS requires US Citizens to keep all of their tax documents in case of an audit.

Hmmm I think I got all my Nursing documents and credentials red ribboned in 2011 since I was planning to go abroad then. Lol

Would that be ok? Is there an expiry for red ribbon?

Thanks for sharing your experience!  Makes us feel less apprehensive about going ourselves by reading your account.  I'm sure that tonight you will have a GOOD night sleep from the months and months of this over your head.  One question: He actually asked for all of these things individually?  Just curious, as a lot of people report they just ask for the basics and never ask about the financials.

Yes, he did ask but he didn't give them back to me. Only the person from Pre-Screening asked for these documents. The Consul never asked about the income or job of my fiancé. I think each person has different case. Some might get asked for it, some might not. 😊

I think they have an expiration, 3-5yrs (not too sure tho). I should start processing my docs too. I just remembered it today and wasn't too sure if I need to bring red ribboned docs 😅

My friends didn't have any red ribboned documents when they went to the US but since red ribbon makes the documents more legit, I think we should get them red ribboned just to be prepared. 😂
