Hi all March 2017 filers!

I was a March 2016 filer and I just wanted to pop in and say congratulations to all of the approvals and to those of you still waiting hang in there!

It's hard for me to believe it's been a year since I was in your very shoes! Around this time last year I was getting ready to go have my medical done and now I'm over here, Married, Green Card in hand since March 19th and with a job, building a future with my husband.

You all have a very emotional journey ahead of you. The transition WILL BE harder than you are imagining but hopefully all worth it in the end :)

If any of you have any questions on what to dO or the process, or just need support, post POE feel free till msg me!

Good luck to you all on your amazing journey!

Thank you. That's very thoughtful of you😊

July was a tough month for many last year... Some were getting their approvals while others were desperately wondering "why is our case not moving?!!". Ppl started travelling over while others did not yet get their NOA2. So there was much stress... for most of you, your timelines will fill up very quickly, very soon. And I don't mean to scare you but there will be a rough time waiting again for work authorization and advance parole once you are over here... BUT you will be waiting together! And being together is the ultimate goal for us after all. :)

I will keep an eye on you guys (F)

Oh, did they ask for the invoice number there? I only knew you need the WAC number as your receipt number for DS-160.

Are you already working on it? Yay :)

You never need the invoice number, since K1's pay at their respective embassy. You need the WAC or Embassy case number.. there is a field on the DS160 where you can fill out either.

I was a very lonely and depressed person! Lol I tried to stay busy with preparing for job hunting to stay sane. Researching DL's, getting SSN, Bank accounts, insurance, taxes (woops oh and getting married!! Hahaha) ... I spent a lot of time looking at companies and researching on how to improve my resume.. It's very different from the Europe more common CV standard. I would have my intermittent breakdowns... being without friends and such... but luckily with a husband to pick me up. :)

No, not yet :)

But somebody I know had to call NVC just today to ask for their invoice number, because she thought it's useless and didn't write it down.

Exactly, Together is so much easier.  Just last night we were talking about AOS and AP and how we wouldn't care if it took a YEAR, because at least we would be together and not forcibly separated by oceans and mountains of bureaucracy.

Thank you so much for your words of encouragement!  More than half of the March filers are sitting on our hands wondering what happened that has slowed approvals to a crawl.

Ok, so it's confirmed invoice number is pretty useless :P Thank you!

For the lucky ones working with  DS-160 already, I've read on the FAQ that receipt number is the one to use.

Help: Application Receipt/Petition Number

If you are applying for a petition-based visa, your application receipt/petition number was given to you by the Department of Homeland Security’s U. S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) after you filed your petition application at a USCIS Service Center. The application receipt/petition number is 13 characters long and the first three characters are letters.

It was EXACTLY the same last year... April filers even started to get approvals while many Match filers were still waiting... March turned out to be the slowest filing month of 2016.. let's hope 2017 picks up :)
