Been following this thread as a lurkers for some time, but figured we'd add in our info -- still waiting for NOA2 like many

of you, our NOA1 notice date is 3/16 (received 3/13.)

Definitely getting nerve wracking seeing others with later dates with NOA2s. No RFEs or anything, and no changes

on the USCIS website, checking multiple times per day at this point. FWIW we submitted via a lawyer, something

we wouldn't have done if we had known it was going to add six weeks to the filing time (our app was complete in January.)

I hope next week we're all hit with NOA2s in our mailboxes!

Hey we have the same dates as you. :D holy ####### about the lawyer.

Man, I tell you what. We just fired our lawyer today at the 11th hour. He has been incredibly rude and disrespectful to both of us. Refusing to answer questions or telling us that he will answer, but in his own time. Even after we told him he was no longer required, he was still writing crazy emotional e-mails, calling us liars, careless, etc. This is the same lawyer that months earlier went on a rampage when I mentioned VJ. I had to tell him to calm down. All I can say is to be very careful choosing a lawyer if you go that route.

Yeah lawyers really don't make things speedier.

I agree. We had hired him at the time because we wanted to make sure we did it all correct with minimal effort because I was still in the process of a long divorce which was draining my energy.

I really think that this guy believes that he is a god or something, that we could not exist without him. I guess we shot that down.

This was our exact rationale for going with a lawyer.

Virtually 100% of our interaction was with a paralegal and we had to correct literally every single document she prepared. It was completely ridiculous. When the application was finished she no-showed to the signing appointment and another paralegal stepped in, reviewed the docs, turned white and brought me a bunch of blank form pages to sign "just in case."

Having seen all the forms if you speak english as your primary language doing it yourself is a no-brainer decision.

We did it by ourselves and got it after 95 days after they received it. :)) I don't think it has something to do with having an attorney :D  i know some who got an attorney or an agency and still don't have noa2s yet.

I know some aswell  ! attorney takes longer because you have to meet with them and discuss things and youre not their most important client all the time..its just life. But i do agree a second set of eyes is always good. I did not chose to pay an attorney for something i can do myself however if i get an rfe ill be okay with that ..

I know you are not one to complain  Still it's cool you can have your medical whenever you want after getting your case number from NVC and it's a walk in. I wish I could do that too, because I'm pretty sure that's going to delay me a bit, though I guess a week or two don't make much of a difference. I just want to be done, honestly. One of those days

Second week of September doesn't sound impossible to me. Do you know how long does it take usually to get an appointment for the interview from your Embassy? I guess that's going to be one factor that can affect your plans. I'll guess you'll be able to know as soon as you send packet 3 and they reply to you... which should be along this month, hopefully.

Yeah, I'm lucky for the walk in!
There's 4 or 5 panel doctors in Germany. My closest would be Munich, 2nd is Frankfurt. So I'll take FRA, since its the only one with walk in.

Hm, interview varies, as it seems. A girl I know who is on K-1 right now (just got approved) had her interview quickly: 10 days after she was permitted to book it.
Someone on the German forum posted the calendar for Frankfurt, and still there are some dates open for August (also one on my birthday, hehe). So I hope I can do that soon and have interview in the middle of August.
But you never know how many people come in the meantime.

At least I think I found my flight... One Way from Frankfurt to Richmond for (as of now) 600€. And it goes over Rejkjavik, so at least I'll be able to tagg me in Iceland haha

In Spain there's only two doctors, both at the same clinic in Madrid. And apparently the medical has to be done at least a week before the interview. I'll have to see into that when the time comes, to see if I need to travel twice there then, but that's what I'm planning for now...

Wouldn't it be cool if you could get approved on your birthday? :) I'd love to be approved on Gary's birthday, that's September 15th, but I know that's a no no, because I have to work for my sister that week (and, of course, we should get NOA2 in a timely manner for that ).

And that flight sounds great. I still think I'll go for a round trip ticket, since they are still around 1000€ cheaper. Right now prices are around 1000€ too. We still have to decide if we are flying to Salt Lake or Vegas, depending on vacation days, prices, and Jaime :)

I was going to tell you the timeline moved in the right direction for once, but you don't care anymore. LOL.  :jest: Enjoy your weekend!

The 2 one ways I found (one via Portugal, one via Iceland) are way cheaper than a round trip - yet. So that'd be perfect! :)

Oh yeah, that'd be the greatest birthday gift! :):)
Maybe I should schedule it for then, so they can't be mean to me, because it's my birthday (wishful thinking haha)! :D

Yeah it's better to have the medical done about a week before (at least), because then the consular officer has the results already. The girl I know got approved right at the interview, while I've read from others who had their medical the day before that they didn't get a "real" approval because of the results not being there.
I want to walk out of the embassy with a precise desicion. And then scream lol

But first now waiting for the NVC number, so I can get this rock of medical off my chest and not worry anymore about being seriously sick.

Bämmmm! :D

Oh well, that's another difference. I have to make time to go to the clinic and pick the medical results before the interview, and take them there myself :P So yep, at least that's not a concern or delay for Approval.
