As a fellow RFE receiver I'd be happy to help. Rfe's have a bad reputation but in reality are no biggie. They touched your case and you should get approved soon after you send your response.

Thank you so much. I'm just taking today to pull everything together so when I get the letter I can respond as soon as possible. How long did it take you for your RFE? Also if you don't mind me asking, what was your RFE issued for? Thanks again

Also is there anyway I can find out what my RFE is specifically for before I receive the hard copy in the snail mail?

No, unfortunately there's no way to find it out. You'll have to wait for the letter. Hope it's something easy to fix.

You cannot find out until you get the hardcopy in the mail.

We got an email notification on 9 June. We got the hardocopy on 17 June. They received our response on 21 June. We got the NOA2 hardcopy in the mail 28 June.

We got the Rfe for passport style photo of the petitioner. We had sent it already, but they asked for it again.

Let us know when you get the rfe what is it about!

I can show how this is supposed to be the Notice Date and Not the Receive Date......

Edit your timeline, scroll down to your NOA1 date entry.....

I know. :(( I took a day off from work today because I don't know if I can handle all of these stress.. These past few months I have been trying to hold on and be positive. Right when i heard when they said that they couldn't give it to me, because they made a mistake i started to cry.. I even told my fiancé that i don't want to go through this process anymore. He said he will tale care of it and that we will always stick to each other's side no matter what and we will still be together for good. :(( Thank you, for trying to comfort me as well as @TearsOfBabylon and @Chris and Tin for your kind words.. i am trying to be strong..

Panic mode  question.

For the  interview... it says to have a complete  copie of the  I-129 package

We made copies of it all but for some reason we lost the copie of the  check that was send to them.

The bank says they cant get a copie of it.   Is this really needed for the  interview?  Im so worried  now.

It was cashed in so they should have the  check..

Will it be a problem if we dont have any copies  of  it?

No need to panic

The reason they don't have a copy of the check is that they cash it by ACH then when it clears, they shred the check.  The check never actually gets routed back to the bank.

I doubt the copy is needed, but to be thorough, and to cross the T's and dot the I's, I would log onto the online bank account, scroll to the statement that has this debit and merely print the specific page, highlight the entry and place it in the I-129 packet.

So happy to see your case progressing!  You are almost across this goal line

As far as I know, the copy is just for you to be familiar with what was sent.

They will have the original case, so you shouldn't have any problems.

I'm getting so antsy. I've been keeping my distance from the site because it's difficult not to feel left out. I'm SO happy for everyone who have received their NOA2's, but I can't help but feel discouraged because I really want to get ours soon. I know I haven't been waiting as long as others...my received date is March 28th so I'm well within the processing time and not worried yet. But I'm going to visit my fiance Sep. 1st and we're really hoping to schedule the interview for when I'm there. India is a tough embassy so me being there will help tremendously. If we don't get our NOA2 in the next week or two then it's going to rule out the option of me making the interview. Blah. :(

I called USCIS a few minutes ago and the lady gave me the same generic response that they are working Jan 15th cases so I should expect at least two more months til they get to mine. I told her I know people in March who got approved and she said it's highly unlikely. I just politely said okay thanks, it's certainly not worth arguing when their service department is clearly out of the loop with how things are really processing.

The Dalai Lama, when asked what surprised him most about humanity, answered "Man.... Because he sacrifices his health in order to make money. Then he sacrifices money to recuperate his health. And then he is so anxious about the future that he does not enjoy the present; the result being that he does not live in the present or the future; he lives as if he is never going to die, and then dies having never really lived."

So....am here at work minding my business, talking to fiance(he is the petitioner) via whatsapp about calling NVC today to see if we get our case number. While am talking to him my phone rings and I see Port of Spain area code and am looking at the phone and rolling my eyes cause I thought it was my aunt and am sporting my "I don't wanna be bothered mood" today. I answered politely and person says

"Is this Miss Peters?"

Me: Yes.....

"I am calling from the US embassy, to ask if we can email you the info packet"(I assume this is packet 3)

Me: Sure

"This is just for formal sake, all the documents must be brought with you to interview! Go ahead and fill out application and after you do so we can schedule interview and medical. We don't schedule medical without the code from application confirmation"

Me: Okay ma'am, thank you

Now I know things move fast after NOA2 but fiance and I still in Lalaland with getting stuff together and he in military and wont get time off till September and am not doing interview without him being there(my choice for various reasons)

Point of all this is that once you guys get that NOA2(those of you still waiting, the long wait is over, things go hella fast!!) So chin up and don't lose sight of what's coming ahead on this journey

Wow, that was really fast!!! Congratulations!!!
