YEHEYYY! I called the NVC again just now.. Got on hold for almost 40 minutes ❤️ and a funny CSR answered my call.. How I wish when I call next time I get to talk to him again because he's funny! He messed up with the numbers for maybe 3x 😂 So i had to keep repeating our receipt number to him, too, I heard him say "oh i got it right." 😂 so he told me they received it today, and i should call again by 3rd week of July to get the Case number. I had to repeat again if they already received it, and he said yes.. I sound very excited so he laughed.. So I thanked him and said have a nice day! He said okay, BAH-BYYYYEEE!😂 So funny.

So here's my question. Does it usually take 2 weeks before getting the case number? Yay!

We called last Friday and confirmed that our file is in the facility already. Called again today and got the case number! Wheee! Try to call them again tomorrow!

Actually you do its the law...You may want to do your research.. I just know because I work in payroll/HR and deal with these types of things all the time. You should watch an episode of border patrol. its very serious to perform work in a country that you are not allowed to.  Here is a link : https://www.uscis.gov/working-united-states/working-us you can read a little more about it.    Trust me.. you do not want to be caught working especially if you are in this process.

Also I'm not sure about Poland (I just am talking about north America)

BTW I am polish ! and was born in Poland! living in Canada :)

Thank you for the info, I'll do more research, I don't want to get into trouble.

(I gueesed by your name that you have something to do with Poland but actually this country came to mind because my friends from Poland got married yesterday:))

I did not know that you received rfe as well.

What was your reason for rfe?

Eric forgot to check the box that he has no criminal record

I read somewhere that they ask you that question on the interview and it's a definite no no if you answer affirmative. You are definitely not allowed to work until you get the EAD and file for AOS. So make sure not to mention working from home until you get the official documents needed once married.

Of course I wouldn't say anything at the interview, and now I think I shouldn't continue working

Questions about working while going through the immigration process should be handled by an immigration attorney. I know that answering interviewers/CBP that you are coming to the US to work is a no no as your stated intent should be to get married. It's probably a secondary or tertiary intent of many to work as well which may make it seem like a lie to answer in the negative, but that's the way the system is. Gotta play by their rules. Personally, I don't see how keeping a job that you already have outside the country is an issue since it could very well precede your relationship. Like I said, questions like that are for attorneys.

Today my fiance called and they told him that will be around 2-2 1/2 months for our case. Iam waiting Noa 2 hopefully these days...what brings the question-what we do then we receive Noa2... just waiting more?

When you get NOA2 USCIS will forward it to the NVC and that doesn't take too long, but it is more waiting. You have to wait for them to receive it, then wait for a case number and more waiting until they send it to BG.  Could be another month.

That's what I thought but now I'm not so sure about that. Anyway, whatever I could earn in 3 months is not worth getting into trouble.

Usually and customarily, any income earned - regardless of where it is earned from, is taxable based on your residence. In Ohio, there is city income tax, state income tax, and federal tax.  All 3 would require any earnings be reported.  An immigration atty may have a good answer for this situation, but with what is left over after all the tax, 3 months off work is, after all, non taxable :)

Intent is very important in legal issues. The question of whether you are coming to the US to work is to see whether your intent is to marry or get money. If you already have a job, then your intent is obviously not to make money since you are already doing that. Then again, government usually isn't based upon logic, reason and evidence rather what will get the guy re-elected next term. 😃

I guess I'll just have to relax and enjoy being unemployed until getting my EAD:)
