I agree. According to the famous saying " Ignorance of the law excuses no one". And you have a really awesome profession😊

Thanks. Unfortunately, i can't take a lot credits from my law degree. But i plan to go to school and take the classes i need to be able to practice law there. This immigration stuff makes me want to become an immigration lawyer and help people out. Reading up on US immigration law has been fun so far :))

Yes i think you should be! All of us here will really support you on that.😄Being able to experience first hand the process of immigration can make you more sympathetic to people going through the same process. Make it to law school in US.!!! Im sure you'll nail it!

APPROVED!!!!! Just got the email notification from USCIS, dated July 5th. Our NOA1 date was March 28.
So shocked!! Just this morning I had posted asking if anyone with our NOA1 date has been approved yet!! Was also so worried about an RFE because we didn't send formal letters of intent. But today I got an email that we are approved and they will mail our notice. Our VJ estimate was July 5-11 so right on.

That's awesome! Congratulations!

Hey Philippines friends/filers...

I subscribe to a super awesome travel deal alert website. I just got an email for a deal from LAX to Cebu as low as $550ish - select dates Late August to Late November. Figured I would share just in case anyone is looking for flights around that time! It gives me a link but I'm pretty sure all you need to do is go to Google flights and you can see the low fares when you click on the month toggle to select return/depart dates. I clicked on the link and saw a bunch of $500ish flights in September and October. Not sure if that is much cheaper than they are normally but it seemed like a good deal to me! lol

This service helped me book a super affordable flight to India to visit my fiancé in September so I always like to share the deals with my friends when I see places they might want to go. Since I see so many Philippines filers on here I figured I would share just in case. :)

The Dalai Lama, when asked what surprised him most about humanity, answered "Man.... Because he sacrifices his health in order to make money. Then he sacrifices money to recuperate his health. And then he is so anxious about the future that he does not enjoy the present; the result being that he does not live in the present or the future; he lives as if he is never going to die, and then dies having never really lived."

@NovaDC, you are completely on point on that one! Going through this gives you so much insight of how immigration works as it comes from personal experience. I hope we all accomplish our selves to our fullest potential. Starting a new life is not easy but hey, we'll have the support of our loved ones. :)

YEHEYYY! I called the NVC again just now.. Got on hold for almost 40 minutes ❤️ and a funny CSR answered my call.. How I wish when I call next time I get to talk to him again because he's funny! He messed up with the numbers for maybe 3x 😂 So i had to keep repeating our receipt number to him, too, I heard him say "oh i got it right." 😂 so he told me they received it today, and i should call again by 3rd week of July to get the Case number. I had to repeat again if they already received it, and he said yes.. I sound very excited so he laughed.. So I thanked him and said have a nice day! He said okay, BAH-BYYYYEEE!😂 So funny.

So here's my question. Does it usually take 2 weeks before getting the case number? Yay!

Well, can't be sure because things with this whole process seem to be changing constantly, but the general saying used to be once they received the case, the number was assigned that same day or next one. I would try to call on Friday again :)

Yay! You are closer. Hope it works so you don't have to move your hotel reservation for the medical. Sure it's worth giving a try.

Lol, I guess that makes sense with our names being kind of similar, in letters contained there at least :P

But nope, I'm the infamous April stalker. April 6, received date, so not that far away theoretically, but March is taking a while to process. Not complaining ;)
