Hi Debbie,

While I'm a little neurotic, I've gathered 90% of the docs I'm suppose to have for the interview. I've filled out most of the DS-160 as well, so I'm just waiting for the NOA2 and until my fiance goes back to Cuba for him to do his part and get the other 10% done. I've also filled out most of the paperwork needed when we get married to submit his AOS... Things were really slow at work and then again I'm impatient lol

Got my NOA1 in the mail a few days after my text.. Hopefully since the NOA1 came quick, my NOA2 will come just as quick... Praying no more than 90 days! :D Just a couple more months to go! :jest::dance:

Wow....you are my hero!!! I need to start doing that so it gives me something to occupy my mind while I'm constantly and anxiously missing my fiance.

The Dalai Lama, when asked what surprised him most about humanity, answered "Man.... Because he sacrifices his health in order to make money. Then he sacrifices money to recuperate his health. And then he is so anxious about the future that he does not enjoy the present; the result being that he does not live in the present or the future; he lives as if he is never going to die, and then dies having never really lived."

Wow! That's amazing. I should ask my fiance to do that too. At least get the letter from his job and the bank statement. But I wonder if those things should be dated past June/2017 (since that's when we should get our NOA2), or if it could be dated before that. Any thoughts?

OMG I love this! I'v started doing the same, collecting things for the 'proof of ongoing relationship' part, although, I keep reading that this isn't soo necessary at the interview (We front loaded the hell out of our petition). My interview will be in London - I'v read that its a pretty easy breezy one..

Also, I'm around 99% sure we did everything right, signed everything, filled in all necessary boxes, attached everything needed, checked, double checked, had my father check, checked again, e.t.c. but I still have that nagging thought of what if we get an RFE...

Has anyone stumbled upon a thread on here of reasons to get an RFE? I cant seem to find a recent one!

So... the most unexpected thing ever has just happened...

My fiance and I are video chatting and he just received a whole package from UCSIS!! We were both super excited as he opened it to find a letter saying:

"This office is unable to accept and process the correspondence or information that you submitted.

  • Received an empty envelope from this return address"

accompanying the the letter was the envelope we sent our I-129F package in, its n tatters and is ripped open and obviously empty...

So as well as having to start over, my fiance is now at risk of his identity being stolen!

Obviously have called the bank to put a freeze on the account, what else should he do?!

Oh no!  I am so sorry this happened!!  Does your fiance (and you since your info is lost out there somewhere too) have any identify protection through the bank or LifeLock?  If I would contact them to make sure they are aware and they might have further guidance.

Hopefully you can get your petition together again and re-submitted.  Have him send it in one of the cardboard enveloped - I used one from the UPS store - they gave it to me free.

Good luck!!

That is so heartbreaking. I'm so sorry. I can't think of anything else he should do other than get to working on putting together a new packet so you guys can get it sent ASAP and not lose too much time on your journey. Good luck!!! Maybe if you no longer have originals of some things you can just include the copies (if you took them...hopefully) of everything other than his original signature on the i-129f and put a note explaining why they are copies then advise that you can provide re-created originals if requests...or something along those lines. Ugh again I'm so sorry!! :( Sending positive vibes your way.

He has spoken to lifelock, Im not sure if he had a pre-existing plan with them but apparently he needs to call the FBI now (Atleast we can say we've done that now! haha)

Worst thing is, we did send it in a cardboard envelope that said 'DO NOT BEND', and payed extra for the super priority, tracked for, signed for, etc (it was supposed to only take 5 days, but end up taking 11 in the end anyway)

Does any one else think its a little odd that someone from a government organisation would sign for tampered mail? Surely they shouldn't sign for it if its clearly tampered with??
