I've read somewhere you can ACTUALLY make the appointment already when NOA2 arrives. I want to have it done as soon as even possible (I'm terrified of lung xray... simple paranoia). 
 

 

Ah, I'm terrified of the lung xray too...my fiance had TB when he was younger but he had intensive treatment and was cleared from any signs or symptoms. But I've heard it can still show up as a concern on lung xrays and at minimum, cause delay for additional testing. He's in India though where I know TB is very common so I'm hoping this scenario will be quite normal for the doctor he goes to. 

 

As for when, I've also read you can schedule it as soon as you get the NOA2 but I think some places require you to have a letter that is sent to the beneficiary in 'packet 3.' I'll dig around Embassy specific stuff when it gets closer for my fiance to be at that step.

We got our NOA1 text message today! I'm sooo excited, wheee!!

 

Just like others, our petition was routed to CSC. It didn't say this explicitly in the text message, but our receipt number starts with "WAC" and everyone says that means California. Now we await the hardcopy and then settle in with everyone else waiting here for the NOA2.

 

I've had a bad cold this week, so getting that text really lit up my day!

I sent a personal check and my package was picked up yesterday from the lockbox. I am able to check my bank account online or via a phone app to watch for the check being cashed. I'm not sure about money orders.

Congratulations on your NOA1 and yes, WAC definitely means it got assigned to CSC.

We used USPS money order. For USPS money order, you won't get any message or notification to say that it has been cashed. However, you can put in a 6401 enquiry at USPS with a nominal fee to check on the status. Hope that helps.

 

If there are other money order service providers in the US, I have no idea how theirs work.

I purchased at Western Union at the grocery store customer service and there's a number you can call the check if it's been cashed or not. I keep checking even though my package was only delivered 2 days ago so I doubt it will be cashed for at least another few days. Haha.  I imagine other providers like Moneygram and such have similar options, but I'm not sure either.

Ohh really. I think thats the same of what my F did.. but he gor it feom the bank. I think he will have notification also from the bAnk. ThankYou.. 😊
