We mustn't forget to connect on FB!

Hm, good, hot choc is permitted! :D
Right now you'd rather need an iced one. I saw pics from the future in laws on FB today, hanging out at their pool. Seems West Point has started the roasting sequence! :D

Not to worry, I have a good memory. Let's make a deal... I'll send you my FB info via private message here when you get your NOA2. That way sure I won't forget, lol :P

And I know! I'm dreading the summer time there, specially being from the North coast of Spain, where it's a rare occurrence when temperature rises above 30C. I've always visited in January-March... And I already got to experience heat one day that got me worried, lol. I'm hoping for a dry heat I can manage, because here we get very humid weather that makes high temperature seems worse than it really should feel.

Oh well... I guess I'll get to find out next year :(:)

It's a very dry heat here. Just a small breeze can help a ton, but when it's 100+ with no breeze, it's pretty miserable. We hit 99 this week on a day with no wind, and it sucked. Sometimes I have to remind myself that I grew up in Las Vegas, and the average summer there was much worse than most places in Utah.

I'm interested in how the whole USCIS package sorting works from the time it arrives in the lock box to the time it lands on someone's desk to adjudicate. You'd think they have some type of system that put them all in an order based on at least date received, but sometimes it seems like they just toss everything in one of those huge wheeled laundry bins like the cleaning folks use to move laundry in hotels, and then they just randomly draw out of that bin that may contain an entire week spread of packages. According the the Q&A from the former adjudicator, it only takes an average of 15 minutes to adjudicate a case, but the rest of the time the files are just piled up somewhere waiting to be drawn from the stack.

I really think background checks are a major holdup. They run background checks on both people. So while it may only take 15 minutes to do everything else, a background check might be pending for weeks or months. It still makes me wonder about the background check taking that long in the age of information technology. I think it boils down to people not giving a #######. It's just another shitty day at work for them. Just watch how people drive and it's easy to see how self-centered people are.

Funny how as the number of days increases, so does the frequency of thinking of this petition……  And lurking on here turns to posting lol.  Today is 100 days from our “Receive” date.  A fitting end to close of business on a Friday afternoon.  Really Happy for the NOA2's that were discovered in the mailboxes this week, Showing up all unannounced lol.  Too bad we all didn't get one!

The lovely thing about getting the NOA2 in the snail mail is that can happen on a Saturday too... So Sunday is our only blank day now :)

Hah! Who said I'm a pessimist!

Hmmm, interesting. I wonder if they use the FBI NICS system for the US citizen. It only take about 5 minutes on the phone when I get checked for a firearms purchase.

There was some guy on here that knew what system they use, he works for the government, he told us. He said that when they run the check on him and his coworkers, some of them get results back in a few days, others weeks or months.

Yep, it's what my fiance says too. But he's all "it's ok, we have the air conditioning"... And because I'm a Northern girl and my dad is kind of obsessed with how expensive is electricity here, I am like "ok, I can turn it off when you are not at home to save some money" 😝

I definitely have to change my thinking, lol. Besides, our cat loves his air conditioning.

In that case, it might be the same system they use to check contractors. I've been through that one before too. I've seen that one take same time.

Hi everyone. My fiance got mail today regarding our rfe. I thought we missed a box but he told me he put a check mark in the box. So our rfe reason is about how we met in filipinocupid which is a dating site. I havent seen the paper yet, but he told me it's about that, proof that it's not a marriage broker or something. Does anyone have the same situation? We met like 3 times already since march, and he stayed with me for 4 months. Does the terms and condition regarding the website enough to send them proof that its not imbr? Thank you.

Hi! My friend told me your fiancé needs to email the website and ask for a certification or something like that to prove that it's not belong to IMBR :))) the website will email you and then you need to print it out.. Maybe they also need a detailed explanation how you two met on that website. Goodluck!

Here is a thought for everyone to think about =)
From what I have noticed, and it seems to be a trend, is that when people feel like they have been waiting sooo long that they are "getting worried", those are the ones that it seems are getting NOA2's... because it ACTUALLY is taking longer since it comes via snail mail. I would try to not stress too much because it could just be that your NOA2 is on its way! :D
Good luck everyone who is waiting, Congratz to those who have their NOA2 and/or on its way to your embassy and hope everyone has a good weekend and survives this dreaded heat this weekend!  hehe
