Oh no..i hope that won't end up in your case being held up!

I like your optimism!! So grateful for people like you on here!!

We sure hope not. We are supposed to hear back by April 5th so if we don't, my fiance will be calling them

In this long, exhausting and tedious immigration process, we truly need to be optimistic and keep moving forward. That's the only way for us to survive it and come out alive. Of course it pays to have wonderful company here while we all learn as we go.

I'm grateful to have a nice fellow March filer like yourself who's ever so supportive too (F)(F)

Hi Everyone,

I filed mind on February 10 2017.  I got this email message and letter in the mail. "  On February 14, 2017, we received your Form I-129F, Petition for Fiance(E), Receipt Number xxxxxxxxxxx, and sent you the receipt notice that describes how we will process your case. Please follow the instructions in the notice."

Is this mean I got my NOA 1 or just a notice?  can some one explain to me how all this process work? and how long for each process?

Depends if you have any delays RFE is request for evidence.

It can take up to 3 months to receive your second notice and another month after to go through nvc and embassy so 6 months all together.

Lots of patients and believe and faith you are going to need.

Good luck.

It's also good to download the USCIS app to track your case

Hope this helps

Hi Manuela & congrats on your NOA1!!

The place where it was routed to should be in the email they sent you, if you chose that option. It most likely went to the California Service Center, especially if your Case # starts with WAC.

I have not received an email yet, just a text message yesterday evening. My receipt # does begin with WAC :D

I know this is a ways out, but does anyone have any information on the medical / vaccinations.  My fiance doesn't have record of vaccinations or know what physician might still have them.  We're wondering if this will be a problem so we can sort it out ahead of time if needed.

Hi Rev,

His pediatrician may have them, or the last doctor he went to. If not, I believe he'll have to get the shots all over again and take that to the medical.

Here's a medical forum for the United Kingdom, there's a lot of pages but you may be able to find some information in there.

That is so very helpful. Even from the first post, my question is answered (though I'm going read the more recent stuff too of course!).  I'm still figuring out how to navigate all the forum boards, so I really appreciate this :D

Welcome to the club to all new people on here! :)

End of work time in Germany, and one day closer to the K-1!
I'm also glad it will be April already next week - so exciting!!!

I'm sorting out my stuff to keep myself busy, trying to put as much on eBay as I can!
Good point on filing DS-160 and AOS already haha. I was about to do that, but then decided to wait until middle of May, so I have a little "bridge" to shorten the time! :)

Question around:
When are you guys planning to schedule the medical?
I've read somewhere you can ACTUALLY make the appointment already when NOA2 arrives. I want to have it done as soon as even possible (I'm terrified of lung xray... simple paranoia).

One thing I've seen is that the beneficiary should get their SSN as soon as they enter the U.S. as sometimes it can be a problem getting it after the marriage. Some states you can't get your DL until you've gotten your EAD.. Things like that.

Oh, I didn't know that! Can you request an SSN already after arriving? I kind of thought that's possible when you're married?

Good topic, I should start researching! :D

Have a wonderful evening/morning/afternoon or whatever it might be in your timezone, fellows!

That's a good idea... my closet is pretty full, so maybe I should start thinking about down-sizing to make room for the mister.

I told the mister that once we get our interview appointment, he needs to schedule the medical about a 1.5 to 2 months ahead of the interview to make sure we have enough time for it to be received by the embassy and still be valid for when he arrives in the U.S. I've read around the forums that you should schedule it after your case says READY on the USCIS tracking website. But, I've also heard you can do everything beforehand the case just needs to say READY by your interview date.

As for the SSN, yes you can request it as soon as you arrive in the U.S. some people have recommended to wait about 2-3 days after entry so that you're in the govt. system, but you can should do it ASAP. It may be easier for women to wait until after marriage so that you don't have to go through the name change process, but I've also read around the forum that some have had problems and have had delays in getting their SSA card in the mail when they applied after marriage. I think it'll be beneficial to look around the forums to see what's best to do. In my case since I have a mister who is definitely not changing his last name (HAHA) we can go ahead and go to the SSA office to apply for his card right after he arrives.
