I didn't receive a txt because I didn't file the paperwork for that.  On the I797-E notice of action (RFE) They reviewed my case on 6/15, it arrived in the mail on 6/19

I've read some previous posts and they said the site gets updated only when they ask for RFE.  Otherwise, if your petition is approved, you only get the letter in your mailbox, no text nor e-mail will be sent.

@TearsOfBabylon, i know the feeling! I was the same, i even forgot all about it just before we got the RFE. Honestly, i was not expecting it until June 26 (that was my VJ timeline). In fact Todd was here on a visit when we got the RFE, so it was a huge letdown. We are over it though, it's a pain in the butt to go through but in the long run, it's just bureaucracy. I've read so many stories here with people sharing their experiences to understand that there are no rules. I just wish all of us good fortune, as everyone is in serious need of good luck during this ordeal.

No idea what was wrong with the photo we sent. They are asking for a new photo of the petitioner. It might have been lost or it might not have have been done according to USCIS standards. They don't let you know why they are asking for a new one.

Yes, the site gets updated when you get an RFE. They also send you an email notifying you for the RFE (at least they did send one to us).

If you get approved then you are NOT notified via email or text and there is NO update on their site. You just get the hard copy NOA2.

stupid  timeline date moved up 2 days  again..  This is so depressing      day  105  allready.

Try to look at it this way: You are waiting for a document to arrive via mail. No news (no emal/text/update on USCIS website) is good news!

Thank you ... This info looks familiar and is a good refresher for me.  It seems that SDO embassy recently redesigned their website and I haven't been able to find the k-specific info that I saw a couple months ago when we started all this.  My question about when is the soonest we can schedule wasn't about how soon we can get an actual interview date, I meant when is the soonest we can actually do the scheduling of the interview... But from what you provided above, I think the answer is that it can be done as soon as we file ds160 and pay the application fee, the latter being dependent on first receiving CEAC # from NVC?

 

A couple of other questions that I thought of today on the plane ride home...

 

I know that the medical cannot be done without the embassy appointment being scheduled, and I know that medical should be done at least 15 days before interview, based on info you provided above.  But, is there any harm in doing medical sooner?  Like a month before embassy interview?  in Dominican Republis there is 2 places to do medical, the old place doesnt let you make medical one monthe before, the second pace let you make medical one month before, but the expiration date for medical start from the day that was done, so early you do medical early expire.

if you get delay at the embassy your medical can expire and need a new one. so to be safe is better 15 days before interview, 

 

A friend of mine from Germany showed up for her medical exam and was surprised to learn that she had to go elsewhere for her chest x-rays which should have been done prior.  Should we be concerned about that happening in the Dominican, or can anyone confirm if the chest x-rays are definitely performed during the medical exam? here they make chest x-ray at the medical exam, you dont need go before or other place.

 

I know vaccinations are not required for k1 entry to USA, but are recommended, because I believe I read somewhere that if our initial k1 medical certificate includes vaccination info, that same certificate can be used for AOS, possibly saving money by not needing to pay for a second medical exam 4-5 months from now.  Can anyone confirm that my understanding is correct?     yes you are right  Will the doc at medical exam perform vaccinations if requested, or does that need to be arranged with a private doctor in advance? they give you the sheet with your vaccinations, they dont accept private doctors only dotors authorized by the embassy can do medical and vacinacion authorization. of course if you have your vaccination record you can teke it with you the day of medical and show to the doctor there.  

 

Does the VAC appointment have to be the day before embassy interview, or can it be done a week or two earlier? can be done one month, weeks, days before or the same day of interview.

 

exambple, you can go to the medical on the morning and to VAC in the afternoon that mean 15 days before interview.

or you can go a day diferent from medical, all dependt if you ive far from Santo Domingo, if you live in San Domingo is easy go to diferent days, but if you live in others city as you need go for the medical to Santo Domingo is good do the VAC the same the of medical. 

also you can do VAC in the morning at 8 example and conasular appoinment later at 12 example the same day of consular appoinment, but this isnt recomended because you wil have more stress going to vac and to embassy the same day.   I HOPE THAT YOUR QUESTIONS WERE ANSWER, IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTION, JUT MESSAGE ME, I DID K1 ON 2014, THIS IS MY SECOND K2, MY FIRST K1 FOR REASONS GOD DIDNT WANT THAT WORKED, I AM SO GLAD THAT DIDNT WORK, THAT PERSON WASNT THE RIGHT FOR ME.
