Hi all, this is my first post. this is a great blog, my noa1 date is march 21st, this is extremely stressful journey and full of anxiety. I think The anxiety will remain there until my fiancé steps on an American soil. Hoping that I should have an approval notice by the end of first week of July. U guys r amazing, good luck to u all

Hi! Welcome to the group!! I'm always excited to see a fellow India filer...seems like there aren't very many of us on here. My NOA1 date is March 28th so hopefully we should be getting ours around the same time! Is your fiance going through Mumbai or New Delhi embassy? Mine is going through Delhi and I will be there for 5 weeks to visit him in September so I'm really hoping it works out for me to attend the interview with him.

The Dalai Lama, when asked what surprised him most about humanity, answered "Man.... Because he sacrifices his health in order to make money. Then he sacrifices money to recuperate his health. And then he is so anxious about the future that he does not enjoy the present; the result being that he does not live in the present or the future; he lives as if he is never going to die, and then dies having never really lived."

I took the  weekend  OFF  from VJ hoping stress would get less not starring at the screen all day waiting for  some good news.

All it did was make me worry more because i cant talk about  it..  This  group really helps me through the hard times even though we never  Met..

Strange how it works.. People far away help me more than my own family does.. and atleast dont think im Crazy for doing this.

So just want to thank you all :)

Have a Good  day.

I do the same thing often, but dang it takes forever to catch up on what we miss! haha. For me, staying away does actually help a lot though. I've been immersing myself in other things that distract me. I've become obsessed with this fitness boot camp that I joined so I go there every day, have been cooking/eating healthy, spending time with my Little (girl I mentor through Big Sisters organization), wedding planning, and working on writing/blogging. Staying busy is the only way I know how to distract myself from getting anxious. But there's no way I could make it through without this group. Even though I don't know many people on here it's so helpful to just read and know that everyone here is going through the same process.

How does a money order work with western union?

Hey...you just go to a store/location that sells western union money orders. I was able to purchase one at our grocery store (Fry's) customer service desk. You tell them you want to buy a money order and tell them the amount then pay for it. They will print you out a money order for that exact amount and then you fill out the fields for who it is being sent to. Make sure you remove the attached part which is your receipt and will have a tracking number on it. Then you can use that number to track the money order through western union after it is sent.

You can find a money order retailer by using this website:

https://www.westernunion.com/us/en/agent-locator.html

Just enter your zip code and select the money order check box.

Do they give us anything to put in our package to send to USCIS to file form I-129F?

Thank you for that should be sending our petition this week.

No all they are giving you is the money order which you will paperclip to the very front of your package. Don't think too much into a money order, it's basically the exact same thing as sending a check. Only difference is you've paid the money up front instead of writing a personal check which will be drafted from a personal bank account.

Okay no problem so then we just rip the receipt off the paper and keep that but then attach the over piece of paper to the front of the package.

also there is no address to write the money order to is there? Isn't it just U.S Homeland Of security?

You write the name out just like you would on a check. Then I think it also has fields for your name/address. Make sure you read the instructions on the I-129F very carefully. I believe it says to make it out to U.S. Department of Homeland Security...don't abbreviate anything other than U.S. But double check that on the instructions just to be sure.

Have you already gone through the guides on here for the K1 process? If not, you should definitely do so and it doesn't hurt to go through them again. We all don't mind answering questions on here but you need to familiarize yourself with the process as much as possible to avoid making any minor mistakes that could delay the process with a RFE. It helps to make a checklist and a cover sheet, fill out the forms then wait until the next day and review everything with a fresh mindset.
