I'm 10 years older than that, but at the same time I am infinitely older and infinitely younger than my real age. It's not a matter of numbers :)

You are right no one should try to say maybe if you can't handle the process you shouldn't be in a relationship.

Expand

I really did not intend to offend you with my comments. I was just providing my insight on the subject which from your post was the topic of not moving forward because there is too much stress with this process. This process is not for people who do not have the emotional and mental strength to be apart from each other all while dealing with a process that leaves you completely in the dark. My opinion is, if I can't handle this process with someone then why would I be in a relationship with them? Surely other things in the future are going to be just as if not more difficult than this. Raising children, planning our future and deciding who's home country we will ultimately settle down in, handling finances to afford to visit the other's family often enough, running a business together, etc. If I can't handle being away from him for 6 months to a year and dealing with some tedious paperwork and government requirements, then seriously...how will I handle being in a successful marriage?

So yes, I am saying that if someone cannot handle this process then they shouldn't be in a relationship. What I mean by that is, if the relationship is not strong enough to make it through this process then it is likely not one worth being in. But that is MY opinion. You don't have to agree with it, but you welcomed it by posting on this forum. And frankly, I am a very opinionated individual who believes in expressing my views so if my opinion doesn't offend someone then it's probably not honest enough.

The Dalai Lama, when asked what surprised him most about humanity, answered "Man.... Because he sacrifices his health in order to make money. Then he sacrifices money to recuperate his health. And then he is so anxious about the future that he does not enjoy the present; the result being that he does not live in the present or the future; he lives as if he is never going to die, and then dies having never really lived."

haha great at maths indeed!!! Most people I know call me an "old soul" and my friends joke when people ask me how old I am that I look 20 and act 40. :D  It really is a matter of numbers. Age really doesn't mean much in life.

To the ones who have received your NOA2 did you also receive email or text notification?

So far every NOA2 I've read of here in the March filers only received the physical letter in the mail. It seems the online system is still working, but I've read that some people are getting email/text notifications when they get a RFE but not the NOA2.

I'm turning 38 in August! :)

To the airline thing:
I was booking my flights before via travel agency. Norfolk is a bit out of range and I don't trust myself booking stuff with 2-3 changes. I don't trust myself in flight booking at all.
So I might go back to my travel agency for the one way flight in fall.
I've checked United, Lufthansa, AA...3000 € for a one way... gosh.
Condor would fly one way to Richmond instead of Norfolk for about 600,-.

Insanity!

Yay! 1979 rules! B-):P

3000€ is insane indeed. Haven't you considered the round trip option, even if then we have to cancel the tickets back? :jest:

I paid almost 1700€ for Gary coming last year, but that was last minute in July... That was crazy enough for me. I know I won't be able to get the amazing deal I got my first time going to Salt Lake that was like 700€, but still

Edit: When in August is your birthday? It would be great if you got the visa approved by then... But yeah, wishful thinking since it would be probably too tight :)
