Congrats on your NOA2 once again, what a relief! I wanted to ask you -- did your online case update at all, or you just found out about your NOA2 when it already came in the mail?

Hi and thank you @od17! Unfortunately, my NOA2 didn't update on the USCIS system. Pretty much had my fiancé check his mailbox randomly on Friday morning after I read that some early March filers already got theirs :)

For my I-129F, K-1, AOS, EAD, AP and ROC detailed timelines, please refer to my timeline page :)

ROC filed on December 1, 2020, assigned to SRC, approved within 106 days on February 18, 2021.

My sincerest gratitude to all VJers, especially the late geowrian.

I see, thank you!
Too bad the online system isn't updated on time :( My fiancé moved and we submitted the change of address, but haven't gotten a confirmation that the address was updated yet. Hopefully it doesn't get lost, that would be a nightmare trying to fish for it

USCIS system is still "drunk" at the moment. During the NOA1 period back in March (not sure when the system started acting up), things updated swiftly. That includes the records where my fiancé attempted to get my truncated name corrected. Right now I'm stuck not knowing if USCIS has forwarded my case file to NVC. Not cool.

If you haven't received a notice for the change of address, I suggest that your fiancé send CSC an e-mail to ask. We did that for my name correction request and they replied rather timely, like the next business day, surprisingly. E-mail them at

csc-ncsc-followup@uscis.dhs.gov :) This is kinda a little better than sitting on the phone going through the prompts and getting no answer. They would answer general stuff like these because it's not a specific check on your case status.

When your fiancé contact them, remember to provide the WAC number, petitioner name + DOB, beneficiary name + DOB as well as the e-Request service ID.

Our file date is March 13, I posted a couple weeks ago about the internet being down in UAE where my fiancé lives. May 22nd was the last time I received a message from him it was 6 days later I found out he is being detained in a jail in Abu Dhabi. I'm not 100% sure of the details however, what I know is a friend owed my fiancé money and wrote him a check. My fiancé signed it took it to the bank and bank personnel checking it said it was a fake check. (Not sure what that means exactly) bank ppl called police and my fiancé has been detained ever since. They are charging him with a felony.  He has never been in trouble with the law before, ever. Just a few short weeks before we would get our NOA 2 and we were both looking forward to everything after that. I am in the process of hiring a lawyer in Abu Dhabi. Does anyone know if he will still be able to immigrate to the US if for some reason the felony cannot be cleared? I cannot believe this is happening 😭😭😭💔

sorry by what is happening now, i would advise you before hire a lawyer, try to find a very good friend of you at Dubai that find out what really is going on.

and if you dont know nobody there, just tell to your fiance's family that send to you the police report translated by official if you dont speak the language.

there are a lots details that dont look right to me.

1-your fiance can not be in ajil by other person check, if his friend owed to your fiance money, the owner of the check is his friend no your fiance.

2-lest supose that the ccheck is fake ( a fake check in my country is a fraud check, example that someone use other person acount to steal money), if the check is fake, it isnt your fiance fault , it is his friend fault, because is his friend who is using other person acount to steal money to pay to your fiance.

3-it isnt a crime if a person try to get money that someone owed, so your fiance only was trying to change a check that another person gave him, so the other person is who need be in jail.

HERE IN MY COUNTRY THAT IS COMUN, criminals try to get money from banks with fake checks, all cases i hear here, all the time the person who go to change the check at the bank know very well that is cumitting fraud and trying to get money very easy.

I WILL TELL YOU THIS, THINK: if someone write a check to you and the check is fraud, why the bank is going to put you on jail?, it is ok call the police and after ask you who wrote the check, the police will go to cacth the person who give you the fake check.

if the story about internet down was told to you for him, the here there is a red flag, just try to find what going on.

BUT HERE THERE IS SOMETHING ELSE THAT YOU DONT KNOW REALLY.

I wish we could do that, so I could finally run to the terrifying medical.

And it would be light at the end of the tunnel. The more time goes by, the less I'm in mood for working anymore haha
