Ugh yes no RFE's I hope for any of us. I miss my better half too although I do fly down in 24 days to stay with him for 9 days. Hopefully I make it across the border with no troubles since I fly out for cheaper from Devils Lake, ND. I have a packet with a letter from my boss, our NOA1 notice and I will only be packing my carry on bag and my purse. lol

You'll be fine, I'm sure! Let us know how it went out! :):)

I kind of want to visit as well, but it doesn't make sense anymore now. We're too far in the process. That's actually good! haha

Maybe you can move in with some friends? You'd still be kind of homeless but you'd save money:)

They don't want me, because I eat so much!!!! :D

Nah, kidding. My friends are spread out all over the country, and the 2 couples I like here, don't have a spare room. Otherwise they'd have adopted (and fed!!) me!

And today I found out I can't ship my computer. This is a real bummer.

Computers are often refused due to their delicate nature. Jostling in shipping often wrecks components in them. I build computers for fun so I know this. For my move we are travelling by car but I will be taking my computer apart and packing its internal components safely since I built it with some fairly expensive parts (I am a big gamer) and I would hate to have to repurchase something. When I moved up north I shipped my computer by bus but I actually stuffed the case with bubble wrap so that nothing would move and then stuffed the box the case was in completely.

The "problem" with mine is, it's an iMac :(

Seems like a computer can't fly from Europe.... neither on the plane nor with DHL. Bummer, bummer.... :(

I just booked a flight to go visit my fiance on September 3rd for a month!!! omg I am SOOO excited! Fingers crossed that we get our NOA2 in July as estimated and can hopefully book his appointment at the embassy for a time when I will be there. Our original plan was to wait until we had his interview booked for me to go visit so that way we could plan to fly together to the states, but we couldn't stand waiting any longer and I found a great deal on a flight. :D:D

The Dalai Lama, when asked what surprised him most about humanity, answered "Man.... Because he sacrifices his health in order to make money. Then he sacrifices money to recuperate his health. And then he is so anxious about the future that he does not enjoy the present; the result being that he does not live in the present or the future; he lives as if he is never going to die, and then dies having never really lived."

Yeah, guilty geek! :)
Nah, the plugs aren't the problem. But I can't deassemble it as easily as a desktop. Actually not at all haha
Until now I was only wondering if it makes it over more safe by DHL or by special luggage.
I wasn't aware I cannot take it at all :(

I love this box of hightech. Took me forever to afford one, and although its from 2014 it's still good. Didn't loose much of it's value, but to sell it here and buys a replacement in the states makes a difference of at least 500$... which I don't have. lol

BIG SIGH....

It sucks... :(

Last hope is USPS... I'll make Scott ask if that can be shipped, so a friend of mine could ship it from base here to his APO. Maybe they got exceptions for military members, but I doubt it.

Didn't expect that now.... darn it. Seems like the bills won't end.

Have you looked into international relocation services? It might be a bit more costly than going direct through a shipping service but they might move something like a Mac. I've looked into a service for US-India and the rates run about $100/box but I know they also offer moving bigger/specialty items.

Oh, no, I didn't!
If the military shipping doesn't work I can try that! Thank you! :):)
