I just put September 30th in my countdown app.
That'd be 130 days away.

Dang, how much I'd love to be there then. <3

When are you people going to cancel your apartments?

You are lucky! I am looking at about 200 days from now.

I am going to cancel my apartment a month before leaving.

A month sounds good! :)
Do you have these short cancelling time frames?
I think I have to cancel 3 months prior to moving out, unless I have a following renter. That shouldn't be a problem, because in our area you do have problems to find a place.
Can't decide when to quit though... I'd like to be out by August 31st and live in a B&B until the move... but if it's later then end of September.. it would suck.

Yes, it's more or less standard time over here.

I am not going to leave this place before the big move, it would be inconvenient with the kids.

I totally understand.

For me it'd suck, cause I'd be kind of homeless. My mom is an hour away, and I will have to work until shortly before I leave.

It's all a bit tricky to organize....

Luckily I don't have to do that since I moved in with my Mum almost 2 years ago now when I got a job near my hometown. I am just happy I never moved out into my own apartment after all. lol I am hoping best case scenario is interview end of August and then go in September. I said that to my fiance and he teared up on skype and said oh love I hope I hope I hope. Otherwise I am thinking move might be beginning of Octoberish. We don't want to leave it too late since we will be drive across the prairies of north dakota, the badlands of south dakota into Colorado and later than October means snow. lol Mind you September can mean snow around here too. He said if that happens I am driving the van because I have way more experience driving in snow. lol I reminded him that technically he did because he was older than me and lived in Michigan growing up. He said yeah but our baby snows in Colorado have made my snow driving weak. lol

USCIS website is not updating, so we will not know we have NOA2, until it comes in the mail?

At the moment yes their tracking system is down online. :( And of course they say nothing is wrong but that's how the government works. :( My fiance signed up for the new informed mail service in the states so he doesn't have to go down the hill to the mailbox everyday from his apartment unit. He says it works good as he got an email with the notice of two bills delivered yesterday. HA cept he did not want those.

I'm on the same plan as you are. I do hope it will work out with the interview in August, so I can fly out by middle September.
I just want to have it done, or at least have a date. And also seeing my better half wouldn't be bad, since it was Jan 2nd the last time. :)

Hopefully no RFE in the way! :)

How does that work again?
You register there and then you can just check daily if there's anything on the way for you? Did I get that right?
Might have to tell Scott to download that as well!

Ugh yes no RFE's I hope for any of us. I miss my better half too although I do fly down in 24 days to stay with him for 9 days. Hopefully I make it across the border with no troubles since I fly out for cheaper from Devils Lake, ND. I have a packet with a letter from my boss, our NOA1 notice and I will only be packing my carry on bag and my purse. lol

Yeah you register for it and they email you who you are getting mail from that day. My fiance Chris is quite tickled. He has a disability from his diabetes and walking downhill isn't the best for him and their mailboxes in the apartment complex are all down this hill. He often drives down to pick up his mail. I told him I will make sure to go get the mail when we live together lol

Maybe you can move in with some friends? You'd still be kind of homeless but you'd save money:)
