Thank you to those that gave positive advice.  I appreciate the help.  A green card seems odd to me to now that I looked it up.  The boys teacher has contacted an immigration attorney for help and for now my husband have decided we will go to Haiti with our daughter to visit him this summer.  Best wishes to everyone.  <3

Interesting topic.  However I'm afraid that if the Host Family doesn't open up about what happened here, the road may be difficult.  The biggest problem I see (on top of how complicated immigration can get) is putting all the pieces together.  I admire everyone coming together to try and help these boys, but at this point everything is just speculation.  As you can see, 3 pages so far of hypotheticals.  First order of business should be talking to the host family and seeing if they will open up more.  At that point the picture will be much clearer and the attorney will know exactly what steps if any can be taken.

Having said that I'll throw my speculation into the ring. ;) My shot in the dark is the host family feels embarrassed about whatever occurred.  Hence the sudden move back to Haiti.  Whether that thing is related to the boys or something related to the family who knows.  IMO most likely the family didn't get along with the boys.  And knowing how much the boys were liked in the community they just sent them back, because they didn't want eggs on their faces.  My 2nd thought is they couldn't afford them anymore because of a life change (job loss or similar) and feel embarrassed about that as well.  The last thing that comes to my mind is that perhaps one of the boys did something.  Not necessarily something illegal mind you, but something that worried the host family.  And probably contributed to them not getting along.

Having said all that, I can understand why the host family may desire to stay in the background and not get involved.  Boiler was wise to point out there  "May well be confidentiality issues."  So it may well be wise to involve the least amount of people as possible and be tactful when dealing with the host family.  And to assure them that whatever information is exchanged will remain confidential.  Good luck!!
