Seems mainly you need to ask specific questions to the boys, the former host family, the school and find out the specific details.

As noted above, 3 years seems way too long for any student visa for high schools. From what I have seen it is usually only a 1 year deal.

And as stated before, if their visas were in fact expired then nothing can be done. Perhaps the "It is expires in May is what was said" was just a lie to get them to stay longer. Hard to say as everything so far is word of mouth from other people with basically zero actual facts being put into this.

Definately go find out more specific facts about this then more help and guidance can come your way; but I wouldn't be getting hopeful honestly.

May well be confidentiality issues.

What confidentiality issues?  If their children are dting, there should have already been a relationship between the two families established and she can talk to them as one parent to another.

Seems the people they were staying with are not the parents.

I guess the parents are in Haiti? The Host parents may not even been aware that one of their charges had a girlfriend, kids being kids. I hope  you can find out what happened though, it seems a bit of a puzzle

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.

His Visa is an F1 visa.  I think you are correct, the host family may not have realized how close some of us are to the boys, or maybe thought it'd just give the boys anxiety if they told them ahead of time.  I just don't know and they aren't giving many answers to those from the school that have asked.  I did reach out to the host family yesterday, and am waiting for them to respond.  They attend my church, so I am hoping that they are good hearted people and I can appeal to them to bring the boys back if they are able.  The host family said they have applied for green cards for the boys, does that make sense?  My daughter's boyfriend and his mom have no idea why they sent him back.  My daughter and I have been in constant communication with them since the boys got to Haiti.  As I am reading about the process and learning, I am hoping it's just a formality of some sort.  The thing is, nobody knows and that's what we are looking for help on.  I am told he host family never got close to the boys and everyone was always worried they would change their mind and them back.

Well F-1 visa is not intended for people to come and stay permanently, so again you're back to square one on the fact that regardless eventually they would/should leave. Wouldn't over stress yourself, or anyone should for that matter, on something that is not in your power or control really. Time will pass and blah blah heart felt stuff.

I can think of no basis for them to apply for Green Cards, most odd.

At least as they were here on Student Visa's money is not the issue, somebody was paying for tuition etc. A student visa would normally run to the end of the school course, in this case HS Graduation?

Assuming they are not related to him (sounds like they aren't from your description of them) how are they applying for a green card?

I'm really hoping this is not a case where the host family is unaware of immigration processes as well. If so they may be doing more harm than good.

And for some reason i can't get rid of this small itch that has me thinking it may actually be a visitor visa.

Also, to the OP, besides the information above which is good information, once they were removed from the school, and no longer attending classes(obviously since they are out of the country), they have technically voided their visa status and is most likely has already or should have been canceled/voided as they are required at high school and college/university levels to maintain full course enrollment and complete them.

Oooofff I really hope that is not the case. If they filed I-485s for them when the guys were in F-1 status, that will really mess up their chances of coming back, as they have declared immigration intent with no legal way to AOS.

Oh dear...An application for a Green Card requires a valid reason for eg  like Marriage, Work, Family Relationship or investment etc.. Does not sound they have any of the three.

As an outsider its nothing you can do, In reality the US cannot take every person in permanently.

I however empathize with the young men. Why is it so important for the young girl b/f to remain,

as 2 young ppl they can now communicate long distance & maintain that friend until they are a bit older.

They needed a PP to get on the plane so their PP must have been turned over upon their departure, seem

the host family could no longer afford or just got tired of them. If the PP cant be found by them they can

report them lost , get new ones & get visas re-issued at another time

The host family probably felt ohers intended to chase a GC by marriage for hem at age 18 & wanted no part

of that plan
