How can my US Citizen husband adopt my son?

Hi,

 

I have a son as a single mom before I married my US Citizen husband. I just recently became a US Citizen.

 

We are trying to find ways how can he adopt my son as his own. We've heard stories that it will cost ridiculous amount of money.

 

Please share your recommendations/ suggestions.

call attorneys and courts around your area. They are the best source for this information. Sometimes you can go through adoption without a lawyers. Good luck and congrats.

I tried calling family court and they referred me to law clinics and local attorneys. Called the attorneys office and they asked for fees before they can give legal advise. I really hope we can do this without lawyers. I looked into using www.stepparentadoptionforms.com but I am not sure about their credibility and reputation.

 

Anyone who have used their online service? Please let me know your feedback on stepparentadoptionforms.com or other services used.
