On Monday, February 27 2017 I called to have my I-130 case expedited. The lady over the phone took down all my information and said I should receive an answer in 3-5 days its Friday now and I didn't receive anything. I know it's too soon but has anyone else applied for an expedite? How long did it take to hear a response? What happens if you are approved ? Anything helps !

I've done that before, but they denied it. It took them a week to send me an e-mail. What was your argument for the expedite?

My husband lives in Lebanon and as of February 15 they updated the travel warnings for US citizen there are strong tensions and conflicts between the Lebanese and Syrian borders as well as the Israeli border. I am afraid everyday for his sake due to an impending war on the country! He lives very close to the conflict! Also he is very ill and I am afraid something will happen to him before I get to see him. I gave them all these reasons hope it works these couple months have been rough for both of us. What was your reasoning??

I told them that there were companies contacting me for me to work there and also I wanted to be there for my sister-in-law's wedding. It wasn't a really strong argument, I admit, but I tried.

I tried to expedite my petition on 7/27/2016 as well as contacted my Senator for this matter. I talked over the phone & I choose the 1st & 2nd option on the expedite criteria 1- humanitarian . 2- fear for life safety. I was told that I will receive the decision letter in few  days. I did got an a fishy answer that I had a legitimate & a serious matter because my wife was pregnant & the several explosion that had happened in Tripoli. However, I did not provide any evidence to support my case. The case was  denied to expedite. My friend do not waste your time. sorry

They emailed me today and said I was denied due to lack of evidence. However, when I made my initial call no one told me to provide evidence I would have been more than happy to! Was your I130 approved yet? Sorry to hear about your denial I understand how it feels!!

The same thing happened to me. They didn't ask me anything and then said that there was no evidence. Maybe it's best to request to expedite through an e-mail, where you can attached files to support your request.

Short of a really strong argument, like life or death situations or treatment not available in a country, expedites are usually not approved.

Hello Vjs ,this is my experience on expedite (DCF) on Rio consulate, I send My first  email to Rio consulate, asking to fill I-130  tru DCF  , they sent back to me a email whit list of documents where a need provide  a  passaport bio page (petitionary and beneficiary) and ask to  Explain the circumstances in detail .

I replay the email and  i send those documents  and explain my emergency situation ( was related whit my son health), afther 3 days i got another consulate email asking for mariage certificate and prove of domicile  in brazil, afther 7 days i got another email  listed  below, this was March 9 and i still waiting for response.

I hope for the fact on they have asking those documents is a strong signal they will acept my case tru DCF.
